Is it possible to grow weed somewhere legally or semi-legally and make money off of it?

By semi-legally I mean that if you get caught it is no big deal and you just get a small fine.

I'm REALLY lazy.  I hate work.  If I could go somewhere and grow a few plants and make $50,000 a year I would be stoked.  Can I apply to be a medical grower and sell them my dank legally?

Any ideas?

I don't mind working if it is for myself. 

I just hate working for someone else and making $10 an hour.
