Heh... yessss, we had that same problem too when the anon forum first went up. I didn't know if you were doing any coding yourself so I wasn't sure if I should get into it. But yeah, there are downsides to assigning every anonymous post to a single guest user. If you want a proper solution you'll probably just have to suck it up and write one, I doubt there will be much I can tell you that you don't already know. Add a new field to track if a post is anonymous or not, and update the BB so it respects the flag anywhere it might show a username associated with a post. Make sure to think about other ways a user's identity could be revealed too, like by searching for someone's posts, or ignoring them and seeing which posts disappear. Despite your best efforts, expect to have some bugs at first, and make sure your member know that anonymity might be unreliable while you work out any kinks. If you have any questions let me know.
