Because in most places you would freeze to death if you didnt.  In other places you would burn.  There is only a very narrow swipe of earth that has temperatures we can survive in year round without clothes/technology.

We don't *NEED* clothing. Clothing is protective and increases our chances of survival. Were other animals skilled and intelligent enough to produce and wear clothing,they would. Also, many animals DO utilize primitive forms of clothing, for example rolling in mud to block the sun and insects.

We have evolved the need for clothing and technology.  It provided us a reproductive bonus for so long that we are now dependent on it for existence.  Things of this sort happen in nature, animals will take advantage of a new trait then then become dependent on that trait. 

Singling us out nature betrays your prejudice.  Our making of clothing is a natural evolved trait.

yeah, my dog pulls a blanket over herself when she's cold.  Besides, we're human beings, we're not monkeys, we're not apes, we're unique beings who have learned to alter our surroundings to suit us like no other species known.  And obviously, it was meant to be this way.  Is that so hard to accept?
