Do you think people will simply just "die" when overpopulation occurs?

The problem of overpopulation probably isn't going to really be a problem in our lifetime. However when it does what will happen? Do you think that a war will break out before then that will result in 90% extinction of humans?

It's a sad thought when I think about the subject, because many people will first start to starve to death and crime will increase by tenfolds...

I asked one of my professors what he thought and he simply told me "people will die". I don't buy that. Darwinism, anyone? Survival of the fittest is what I believe is going to happen. People won't simply die, they will strive to live and do all they can to get their family or themselves food to live another miserable day.

Thoughts?

What exactly do you mean by "overpopulation"?  There are many places on earth which are currently "overpopulated" in that resources aren't reaching the poor.  "Overpopulation" is, first and foremost, an issue of resource distribution.

well the gov's would have to be complete morons not see the effects of uncontested sex at will.  so we must assume they do.  therefore we must also assume since they arn't doing anything now....that there plan is to deal with it later.  dealing with it later means war, man made viruses, and "accidental" poisonings from china.

in nature when overpopulation occurs disease is usually mothernatures way of adjusting the population. with people its a little diffrent because we have medicine but i believe its only a matter of time befor a virus comes along and decimates half the population befor we can find a cure. just like a more potent form of swine flu or some new chicken flu or some shit!

are u saying the govt's of the world are conspiring to make war to control the population? and the very small portion of people poisoned by chinese products is part of US govt population control?:confused:

im sure that will happen as well, but it'll be much slower i imagine.  the way i see it happening is most people will eat crappier and crappier foods, immune systems decline, and so its not really super viruses(naturally) but rather the decline of our bodies instead.  so after enough people get wipped out things would naturally improve one would think.  plus the rich won't be as affected. 

also i imagine farm raids will start to become a problem.  eventually you'll see walls around farms, and lasor defense systems lol

if you don't have enough property at your home to grow your own food and cattle...you will be fucked in the future.  and they are pretty much ensuring it by passing all these fucked up laws like rfids for cattle and gmo plants

i just read something yesterday that say gmo foods are in 80% of the produce in all the grocery stores in america :nonono:

i was giving examples, if they arn't taking procautions right now....then that is the only options on the table...so clearly that must be there plan.....or they just expect everyone to starve and start eating each other...either way its the same thing so whats it matter :shrug:

I would think it would be around 3 right now. but :shrug: anyone know?

there is no telling what will happen, but my bets are on a nuclear holocaust.

I think population growth will level off as the third world develops and then there will be a quasi-equilibrium.
