The question alone tells me that you probably aren't fit for the task. You sound like someone who's heard that you can make a pile of money as a computer programmer and thinks "Hey man, here I was, wasting all my time as a construction worker and truck driver when I really could have been making a fortune as an IT genius!".
Buy some books and just DO IT. Work through the books from start to finish, even if it may appear stupid to copy programs that print "Hello World!" on the screen. You'll be glad you did later. It lays the foundation for understanding and learning structured programming. Don't skip the stuff you think is boring, like drawing diagrams for your code. Maybe you can write a few dozen lines of code free handed, but once you have hundreds or thousands of lines of code you need a plan.
BTW, why's this in anon? I think it should be in S&T.
