would you give them a chance? I personally prefer to only bother trying to be friends with girls that at the very least meet my standards- which may be high but people have said I look ver^ good so I think it is fair.

Well if you're talking about finding someone to mostly just have sex with, then the answer is obvious, but looking for someone you can bear to live with, have sex with, share lots of time with, and possibly raise children with it's a different situation.

I'm 24 and the more I date and generally live life, the more I see in girls I would have considered ugly 5 years ago.

that's the thing- I want someone to spend time with and I want "the one" to be very cute/hot so I don't ever go through moments of regret thinking what could have been......... obviously she's gotta be intelligent too and good person .... I have personal standards of the type of girl i wanna see myself with........

"hotness" is basically a societal norm.  The more you adhere, the more you are a tool.  However, There is a difference between looking strange and having a bad personality, or poor hygene.  Ugliness itself is no biggie, you just have to get over taking them out in public.

You're a shallow and vapid individual. I try to be-friend other friendly people, regardless of looks. Intelligence and sociability are probably the two most important qualities in other humans, and honestly, most outgoing, intelligent individuals are at least a 7.

OP i feel the same way.. I refuse to hook-up with a girl below my standards.  I mean, you never know which girl you date will turn into a long term relationship. but then again that's probably why I've been single the last 5 years. I let my physique slip the last couple years, and if I was a girl that fit my standards, I probably wouldn't want to date me @25lbs overweight.

My standards are based on not only sex appeal and looks but on intelligence and personality as well...

i think attraction is a more unoffensive word
hot is only in reference to looks. yea she could be bangin but could you deal with her for a day (no duct taped mouths allowed)
the amount of attraction can be affected by your wants in a partner (looks, intelligence, character, blah)
the more desirable traits and the less bad ones the more you are attracted to a person
so just because a pair of tits walk up to me doesnt mean whoever theyre attached to is important
i was raised on disney fairytales tho :/
