Just thinkin' back to the good ole' days :bong:

Anyone ever see 2 Live Crew do their thing live?

Had to be either '98 or '99.... but seeing this shit live in a rave setting was one of my favorite memories from them hazey lazey crazy days of the old school Cleveland style rave!

Any Cleveland folk remember the Cotton Club??? Africore security?

Had to have been the best fucking venue sleaze-land had to offer at the time!

Africore security could give a fuck less, they broke up fights, smoked joints with you, nabbed drugs from the shady folk.... never was there better security for a rave.

Cotton club was a crazy two floor/four room venue/bar type place in a shitty 'hood of Cleveland.....55th lorain area if i recall proper.

Party from 9pm to ?.....sometime in the morning. Held about 1000 + people. Great fucking VIP areas(3 basement rooms in addition to public).

Throw in 2 Live Crew and some talented local house DJs..... MMMMMm....good times that would be very hard to replicate this day in age. Chicks on stage with 2Live gettin' off and straight fucking themselves with glow sticks, every fucking drug you could ever want, in mass amounts....

yea, crazy fun party shit. :shrug:

in no way was 98-99 "old skool". That was the apex of the rave scene's popularity, the last few years before everything went to shit.

You want to talk oldskool make mention of some storm raves or some desert parties. Talk dirty warehouses and jams underneath bridges. Anything taking place in a legal club is not a rave, it's a party. 2 live crew was a shitty, gimmick, rap act. If that's what you associate to your rave experiences i feel pretty sorry for you.

Definitely not old skool, but I was talking about them yesterday. I like their earlier stuff.
