Using old mushrooms in substrate

Hi,

I grow mushrooms mostly for fun. For a long time. I'm a mushroom growing noob since the 90s. I rarely find time to eat them. That leaves me with a lot of mushrooms I throw away if I clean out my storage now and then.

So my idea is to use dried ground up mushrooms to mix into a PF cake.
My idea is that maybe there will grow some super strong mushrooms from that substrate. I guess a lot of the active substance will get destroyed in the sterilisation process. But maybe some will survive. Or the substances formed wile degrading psilocybin will somehow help the new growing mushrom to form psilocybin.
I thought of doing it with golden teachers or cubensis Mexican.
I plan on testing it with miraculix tests.

Is this a stupid idea?
I'm sure someone must have thought of this before.

Sounds like an interesting experiment.
Give it a go. Keep us updated with the results.

Also instead of throwing out psychoactive mushrooms you have in storage, you can donate them to various veterans groups or psychedelic societies that provide them to depressed suicidal vets. That would definitely save a lot of lives.

Tryptamine rich subs don't produce more potent shrooms IME... I tried using D. cabrerana leaves for sub, contamed. Tried injecting DMT in sub, shrooms around the inoc sites aborted. 5-HTP didn't work either.

But by all means, go ahead. I'm really curious if they'll fruit off a cannibalistic substrate.
