Just using it as a example  ,you spit the same pride about what you are doing ,the same as a person that was in the military...its called pride.....everyone does it ,just most feel they only have the right to the pride.
OR,that pride is in some way bad..........PRIDE made this nation great....lack of it is the result you see now.

I use it as a example ,because most that post here are in college ,its a relatable subject.
    If most here were in say.....medical ,I would use medical examples.

I don't know man.  Pride can mean alot of different things.  I would say this nation does have pride.  We have pride in our ridiculous pop culture, we have pride in our obscene level of comfort and relative stability, we also seem to have pride in our big bully third world invading military.  Don't you notice that every time anything out of the ordinary happens in the us (ie a couple buildings get knocked down, we elect a brown person president) we feel the need to cum all over ourselves with how PROUD we are (that we can go to war, or pretend racism is not an issue)  I don't really think all this pride gets us anywhere if there is nothing to back it up, and thats about what we've got.

We can all sit here and pretend that we're all enlightened hippies who realize words just convey associations established within our own mind.

Or we can open a fucking dictionary, find the closest thing to a mutually identifiable definition, and communicate with each other.

yes word do have weight untill you throw them around for shit.  I'm proud of this country in some ways, the US is full of beautifull people, artists, mystics, and scientists that are doing truely helpfull work.  I am not proud of consumer culture, war mongering, or a over zealous military.  I just think the system is broken and some of the things we are asked to be PROUD of amount to shit.
