It will be your money spent (more than likely, in continuing record numbers) no matter who wins. Fiscal conservatism is dead.

He supports raising taxes. Not exactly the poster child for fiscal discipline when his idea of discipline is taking from others. Sandbox 101: Grade F.

You guys are so quick to say he's dead, but as long as McCain wants to "stay the course" in Iraq 59% of the public is going to consider Obama just because of the war.

Then the Independants will wonder how he will run the budget and Paygo is better than any Republican idea now that the dems have agreed to stop earmarks.

You guys have also failed to see the importance in Nanci Pelosi. I'm telling you he just won the noination today.

Someone bet me. I'm a gamblin' man.

And yet, Obama says he will and will not remove troops, which means he says he will stay and not stay the course. Depending, of course, on conditions on the ground. He will be absolutely blistered by McCain on this. By Shrillery, not so much. I don't think that you will find quite so many people willing to just walk away as you think. Especially given the drastic improvement in the last year. I don't think he's dead for the nommination. I think he's dead for the general election. They are two different things, doncha know. And don't forget, he doesn't get to run against W. McCain has quite the record of opposing W's strategy.

PAYGO is a cover for him to push to raise taxes

That is complete and utter bullshit. They have done nothing of the kind

You mean Nancy Pelosi who can't even keep Democrat Congresscritters in line? That doyenne of unfettered power? Please. Barry may get it but it won't be because of Nancy, it will be because of the primary voters not giving the supers a chance to pull it

I'm not a gambling man, myself. I gotta get big odds in my favor. I also know I'll pay. I don't know that you will.

o0o I'll pay. In fact I'll bet on the gheneral at this point.

Obama has wrapped up the nomination as long as the Dems want people to vote for them in the general. He brings the kids, the independants, and the blacks. If Billary wins the kids don't vote, the blacks are pissed off, and the independants go to McCain. The only reason they wouldn't is if Billary hadn't voted for the war (John will kill her on this), o0ops, too late.

So Barack has won. It's quite simple, the dems won't throw away the general. Especially when they have the majority in congress.

And Barack will win unless the repubs can get all the nigga haters out on election day. And even then, it'll be close.

I'll put down $50 on it. Seriously. It's not to much for me to pay if I lose. Just give me a month after the vote.

I really hope you'll bet me, or at least someone should. I could use $50.

If you need to take a month to pay off a bet you SHOULDN'T BE MAKING BETS.

That was my compassionate conservatism right there. Don't look for much more. That well isn't real deep.

I got burnt by fireworks_god. I'm not gonna get burnt by you, too, especially in light of that fact that it is clearly a sub-prime bet, if you get my drift.

Re: Obama and the Minister [Re: zappaisgod]

I may be willing to bet McCain wins in the general election. I want to see who the V.P. candidates are first.

McCain has a lot of appeal to independents and moderate democrats for his positions on the environment, immigration, banning of water-boarding, taxes, experience, life-story. Add in the fact that he gets the conservative vote by default. Biggest threat facing McCain is if things turn sour in Iraq (this is really what the bet comes down to). al-Qaeda is working hard right now for the democrats; we just snubbed Iran on discussions who have the power to increase violence. So violence may see an up tick even though al Qaeda is struggling to survive.

Obama was a lot of appeal to young voters who don't vote. Obama has no experience. He is also the most liberal senator in the country. I don't think he is going to get the independent vote. Though the country right now is leaning liberal, America is not that liberal. He is even more liberal than a self-proclaimed socialist. And with Hiliary out of the picture most the single women will stay home removing that threat from McCain. He is charismatic and he is an okay speaker (but way over uhhh rated). Finally Obama has no policy behind health care the country can't afford, invading our allies and talking with are enemies.
I think he has been hurt by this minister as well further weakening him among moderate voters.

I am giving the edge to McCain. I don't think America will tolerate giving the most powerful position in the world to someone who has so little experience and the policies of a C+ high school senior.

I could be wrong...

I think this bet is really whether we see increased violence in Iraq... I think we will see some but it won't be significant enough. But before I bet I still want to see who is chosen as V.P's.

I'll wait until V.P's are chosen klimt. My offer stands to anyone else as well. $50 is open to all who oppose Obama.

I'll limit it to 4 people just to be responsible. I doubt I'll get that many takers, but I'll try.

And no shittin', I'll pay up if I lose. I'm not fireworks_god. But your right zappaisgod, you do have a sub-prime bet. I wouldn't do it. :crazy2:

It's not the bet that makes it sub-prime, it's the bettor. I have no idea who you are and you have already admitted you don't have the money. But you'll get it. Next week. Or maybe when you get a job, or your girlfriend gets a job or your mom gets a job or you rob a convenience store. No thanks.

o0o ok. I guess you can be like that. After all, the worst that would happen is nothing.

But I understand, most people will just say shit and not stick to it these days. Maybe there was a golden age when a man's word meant something, but no longer.

I guess that I can just assume that either, you're a pussy, you really don't think McCain will beat Obama,or that it would be unfair for you to bet me incase I lose and don't pay.

I'll consider the second thought the truth. Unless you wanna bet, the offer still stands.

BTW I start landscaping in one month, already filled out my W-4's and everything. I'll take my first paycheck and set aside the $200, even if I don't have any takers yet.
