Words Can't Explain

I've been sitting here at my computer trying to give all of you an accurate account of what it has been like for me when I've tripped on magic mushrooms, but I can't seem to do it.

I've been sitting here at my computer trying to give all of you an accurate account of what it has been like for me when I've tripped on magic mushrooms, but I can't seem to do it. I wrote a poem about it and I feel that it gives the best description of what my experiences with mushrooms have been like. Okay, so here goes...

Totem pole men...
Old, wise Communist generals...
Light dim, light bright...
Spots spread across a wallpaper sky...
Around my feet the streams flow...
Greek philosopher has electricity...
Fish are frozen asleep in their water universe...
Time has stopped, or going backwards..?
The seconds and minutes hands are gone...
Cut out heads on different bodies...
Intricate patterns in the grey carpet...
Yellow Submarine, Eleanor Rigby, When I'm 64...
There is a haze around the outside of my brain...
Blocking out words, the chronological world...
Am I asleep..? How long did I sleep for..?
Vitamin C kick...
Pink, red, orange Starburst turn into my hands...
Lick the fingers, oh so good...
Fumbling, drooling, greedy at that...
Juice flows on my tongue...
Simple matters become so much more...
Each is another world, inside another world...
Inside multiplicity, inside numbers, inside time...
Inside my head...
Until time starts piecing itself together...
I am one again...
Time makes sense..?
I grip my blankets tightly...
I can sleep now...

Well, that's basically it. All of the things I mentioned I saw while I was either in my room or the bathroom. I have pictures on my walls that are great for it. My fishtank is definitely a good thing for it. The bubbling from the filter makes things very soothing. The wallpaper in my bathroom is incredible. I have seen it melt and change into so many shapes when I've tripped.
I recommend a couple of things for a safe and enjoyable mushroom experience. First of all, especially for first timers, do it where you feel safe and secure. Second, do it with one person, someone there for comfort, who you can trust easily. I don't like anything loud or annoying that will interrupt my trip either.
A couple of other tips...drink orange juice to make the shrooms really kick in (oh, and drink milk if the trip is bad), eat Starburst or something really sweet, maybe listen to the Beatles or Verve, and just have fun and relax. The most important thing to remember is to just let your mind go. Try not to think about it too much, just enjoy the experience. Mushrooms are a powerful thing, so respect them and they will respect you equally.
Well, I could go on for hours about this, but I'm sure no one cares to read anymore. Well, I'm out. Enjoy.
