Do I need a drip shield?
Are water drips on my cakes harmful?
Water droplets on your cake or directly on the fruits are fine. They will not cause pins to abort or cause contamination to appear. This means your old school drip shield is basically obsolete.
Just mist as usual, give a quick vigorous fan (for example with your terrarium lid) do blow off the really big droplets and that is it.
