For all you wondering about how RR's rye tek works with WBS
    #7022794 -

:bouncysmoke:Okay so I tried his tek yesterday just like his except with WBS. It worked great except I got tons of exploded cournels when I cooked them the first time and after PCing I even had more exploded ones. I'm still gonna inoculate them and the hydration looks perfect. I'd say if you wanna follow RR's rye tek with WBS just boil them half as long as RR reccomends boiling rye (he says 10 so boil it for 5) that way you don't have all those exploded cournels. Still his rye tek works perfectly for WBS

Pikashroom, I almost posted a snide reply until I noticed it was you

Why bother with that tek for WBS? Soak for 12 hours, drip dry, and you get perfect water content and exposed endospores. No simmering necessary, no contams...and if you did it yesterday, you don't know that it worked yet.

Just curious; let me know if I'm missing something.
