It's about fucking time. I said from the beginning that there is no reason Rivera should have been put as a LB coach. Hopefully this can save part of our season.

How was it his defense?

That is Lovie Smith's defense.  Lovie's players, Lovie's scheme, and Lovie calls the plays.

Ron Rivera was just along for the ride, then his huge ego wouldn't let him even do that anymore.

I supported Cottrell for getting the head coaching job in San Diego. I guess I couldnt have been more wrong about that. That defense has underachieved all season.

Don't be surprised if come next season there is an entirely new coaching staff in San Diego.

What happened to the pass D?

At the end of last season Cromartie was robbing mother fuckers left and right.  I know that Merriman made a huge difference but did he make that much of a difference??

Serious question though. Don't worry about me, I'm torn between my childhood Bears and my hometown Broncos, who have two of the biggest @^#&$&*$*%(*%'s ever in Jay Cutler and Mike Shanahan leading the way. I love Cutler's ability, but every time I look at him, I get a bit sick.

Yes, currently the Chargers gargle spunk.    With soooo much promise at the beginning of the season..

Thankfully I kept my fat yap shut this preseason regarding the Chargers chances for a SB this year.

I guess being a life-long Bolts fan will teach one such humility.

I used to love the Chargers back when they sucked. Then they became the "it" team. I almost moved to Chula Vista when I was a kid, so I was all pumped on them. Those days are over.

I used to enjoy ragging on the Chargers untill this season.


But now i do feel somewhat sorry for them.


The team is doomed to mediocrity, kind of like the Jets, Falcons, Broncos...



After watching them for many many years, it's apparent the defense is underachieving.


They used to be a fast, fierce aggressive D back when Motty engineered the defense post-Seau era.



Their biggest problem is Pass D.  It's been so even last year.

They need to ignore the achievements of big name players like Cromartie, and step back and look at the entire team as a whole.


Despite Cromartie having 11 INT's, the Chargers' Pass D was ranked below average for the majority of the season.

If it were Lovie's defense they would be the same calibur that they were the year they went to the SB.

They aren't.


But hey, either way Cottrell is gone. Now we need to get rid of Turner as the head coach and bring in someone that knows how to coach. If anyone was along for the SD ride it's Turner
