Jay Cutler dissing Denver fans

hahahahahahaha so hilarious
and its soo so true too.
The great thing about it is, he talks about how the Denver fans are a 6 and the Chicago fans are a 9.
And then the news comes out how the Broncos fans were booing Kyle Orton in his first practice...

Denver fans just love their team. Most of us are idiots. I'm not. I feel a 4-12 record is very doable.

You traded him for Kyle Orton, whom your "Take No Prisoners" coach that you trust implicitly has anointed your starting quarterback.
You cannot divorce one from the other.
How can your coach be both so smart in your eyes and so painfully dumb?

Denver is a 3 year rebuilding project with a LOT of issues to be dealt with. Winning ASAP is nice to hope for, but not realistic.
Dude, the defense S.U.C.K.S.
In that timeframe I am confidant that given his track record, McD will find his QB in the draft, or lure one to Denver.
Not to mention that there are a lot of guys who are sick of the "in da club" drama that so many teams have and want to be treated as and play with, professionals.
What Jay did was VERY, VERY unprofessional, are you going to argue against that? As has been discussed by major columnists in this country, if pre-prison Mike Vick or DNab pulled this, they'd would have been crucified.

dude i really have no beef with the broncos
quite honestly the only teams i hate with a passion in the afc west are the chargers and raiders
I just find this whole situation so funny because it's clear what happened.
Its like being at a party with a decent looking girl, but then u try to pursue the hotter girl, but she rejects you,
then you try to go back to the girl u were originally trying to hook up with, and shes pissed and rejects u.
Then ur stuck with the drunk ugly fat chick with a wort on clit.

I'm missing it, too early and not enough coffee yet. If you're trying to imply that the Broncos ending up with McD and his team was akin to them being stuck with the clit wort girl, I think that's a bit off.
And the Cassel trade attempt was only a visible symptom of the disease that had already infested McD's and Cutlers relationship. It was apparent that Culter was never going to fit in the system.
I'll read this again later.

Cutler would never fit the system.
What makes you think this?
Do most offensive systems suffer from having a pro-bowl QB?
That New England offense sure fucking sucks with that Tom Brady, golly.

Because, from what I understand, was told that a good part of the system that Shanahan ran and helped make him into a pro bowler was going to be kept. The system McD is going to run is a LOT different from that system and Cutler didn't want to run it, didn't like the fact that his role in calling the plays was not only not going to increase, but decrease, and felt betrayed. Again, I cannot say I blame him.
I never said he couldn't fit the system, and if I implied that, I apologize. What I am stating is that him and McD were never going to work out. NEVER. Jay's anger was focused at what he saw as betrayal by the Broncos and as soon as he figured out things weren't going to go his way, Bus and him started making moves, hence the attempted trade for Cassel.
If you look at the situation logically, and put the pieces together, along with what was reported, and this was front page news here in Denver, it all makes sense.
I hope Cutler does well, but this IS a business, and the way him and Bus played their hand is disgusting.

He hates that they make money, you forget.
Probably that they win, also.
And he's probably unable to fathom how they can pull it off without McDaniels as their manager.

Just think how dominant they could have been if they had McDaniels. Probably would have led to a Congressional investigation.

No, he would have tried to bring in Alex Rios to play third because he fits the "system" better and A-Rod would've gotten mad and McDaniels would have forced Cashman to trade him for Willie Aybar.
I can see it now.

hey all im saying is, in any system, Kyle Orton is not a better fit than Jay Cutler.
Cutler is clearly the better QB, and hes just starting to his his stride.
Orton had a decent year last year, which was surprising. But Cutler's produced consistent numbers, solid QB rating throughout his career.

I can see it now.
You are, ONCE AGAIN, twisting the facts to try and prove a point that you otherwise could not make. The fall out between Jay and McD had already happened when McD made the inquiry for Cassel. Bus and jay used that as the "reason" that Jay "needed" to be traded.
You still, as far as I know, have not answered my question. You are Pat Bowlen, a dignified human and above reproach by every available standard, and your QB and coach are fighting. You are trying to call him, and he's in the media saying, "Pat's lying, I'm here, I want to be a Bronco, I don't know why they're doing this to me".
What do you do?

I have no problem with them making money, it's how they spend it and mess up MLB with their nonsense, and I ALWAYS put the Cubs, Sox and Dodgers right there with them.
As far as McDaniels goes, well. when A-Rod or Jeter doesn't show up for spring training and starts claiming that Steinbrenner isn't trying to call him, that they keep reaching for their phone and there's no miss calls, then we'll talk.

How have they messed up baseball? Baseball has a greater diversity of winners than football. In the last 32 championships (since MLB free agency) 18 different teams (out of 30; 60%) have won a WS title with only one team having more than 2. In the NFL only 14 different teams (out of 32; 44%) have won and 3 teams have done it 4 times and 3 teams have done it 3 times.
A further analysis of standard deviations also supports the case that the NFL is more top heavy. There are 30 MLB teams. Examining the last 30 years and assuming perfectly even distribution puts the mean # of championships at 1 exactly. The standard deviation for all baseball is 0.83. For the last 32 years of the NFL with 32 teams the standard deviation is 1.09. By that metric baseball is 1.3 times as diverse in it's championships than the NFL.
Then we have the specific example of the Yankees. In the last 30 years they have won 5 times (17%) or, if you prefer, 6 out of 32 (19%). That is significantly lower than their historical success which stands at exactly 25%. Of course, for many of those years there were fewer teams but their dominance is clearly not a function of their free agent activity. They had 20 championships before free agency. One other team (St. L) had 8 and 3 other teams had 5 {Red Sox, Philadelphia A's and Giants). (If you combine Oakland and Phila. you get 8 championships pre-FA)
I decline to do this analysis for the NBA but I suspect it is even more concentrated than the NFL.Quote:
As far as McDaniels goes, well. when A-Rod or Jeter doesn't show up for spring training and starts claiming that Steinbrenner isn't trying to call him, that they keep reaching for their phone and there's no miss calls, then we'll talk.
Baseball players don't worry about that shit because they have guaranteed contracts which they negotiate freely (after a certain number of years). Football players need more coddling because they have no security and little freedom.
Face it. You started with a premise born of animosity for the Yankees and an irrational hatred of success and extended that to a false conclusion not borne out by facts.
You reckon we're far enough off topic yet?

just as a rebuttal to what you were saying previously....
despite the conflict they had, mcD has to realize something.
he may be the coach, but he's also the NEW guy. HES the one coming into a team which had already developed a repoire with each other.
The Broncos were on to something last year. They finally had certain aspects of their offense clicking again, despite the horrendous carousel at RB.
McD comes into a system, without any respect whatsoever for what had been built over the past few seasons.
He wasn't even in his place to even HAVE a personal conflict with Jay Cutler.
You didn't see Mike Tomlin coming into Pittsburgh and bossing Ben Roethlisburger around about changing up the systems and giving Dick Lebeau the boot, in order to take over plays at D coordinator.
McD fucked up. He tried to bring the patriots magic with him instead of trying to respect and work with what he had available.
Now he's stuck with Kyle Orton, and it's his own damn fault.
Jay Cutler is going to continue to perform better and better. Last year he looked to continue to improve. And finally with a team that has a bonified defense, and one of the best up and coming RB's in the league...
The closest thing the bears have ever had to a franchise QB was Jim McMahan. SO of course they will know how to appreciate Jay Cutler in ways he was never appreciated in Denver. It's no secret how Denver fans used to rag on him non stop.

The reality is that every Yankees fan that I ever met where I grew up, and there were only 15-20, were the BIGGEST ares holes in the world. It wasn't just my observation either.
I had no reason to dislike the Yankees growing up, they sucked, but I loved Don Mattingly

Again, I can see why Jay was upset, but the way he handled it, and the way he handles himself at times, shows what his real heart is.
And with all due respect, the broncos were NO WHERE near what the Steelers were when McD showed up. They haven't won a playoff game in a decade, and really could have easily gone 4-12 last year. The roster is paper thin and the defense is about as bad as you can get in the NFL.
Jay can play, but I had problems with his playing style, for my taste, long before there were issues with him. I'm glad he's gone. I never thought I would see it happen.

At a couple of the sites I went to, that win was omitted. I stand corrected.
Okay, in the past 10 years and months, they've won 1 playoff game. But getting rid of Shanahan was a bad move, he was THIS close to making something happen.

Last time i checked, they were leading their division going into the final week of the season.
Brandon Marshall is also disgruntled with the new coaching staff. It was only a couple weeks ago he was also demanding a trade.
Which makes me think also that it was less Cutler being the problem.

Dude, they had won ONE playoff game in 10 years, and had the largest collapse in playoff history. His personnel moves the past 5 years were pretty bad, his defense was awful, changing D coordinators every year, rumors that he had lost a lot of the team.
Bowlen had anointed him "coach for life" and there must have been some serious ka ka going on for Bowlen to let hum go. Serious.

Ironically, it looks like one of the backs that helped push Shanahan to release Clarett a few weeks after they signed him was....
Ron Dayne.
So at one point, Shanahan had Clarett AND the castoff Dayne in his backfield.

His defense and D cordinaters have been mostly busts for about 10 years.
Shula, Noll, Parcells to some extent, the list goes on. Coaches as a general rule either wear out, or wear out their welcome.
We'll see if Shanny still has it when he takes over the Dallas job.

Nothing.
Why do you need to talk to him?
Listen, I'm not at all denying that Cutler wanted out of Denver. Obviously, he felt disrespected that the new coach was attempting to trade for what he (McD) clearly saw as a new starting QB.
Is it understandable that Cutler would be angry? I think so, given that nearly everyone was completely incredulous that McD would do so.
But listen, Cutler is a fucking kid. He's younger than me, and I'm immature as fuck. So he doesn't answer the phone?
Big fucking whoop! The season is four fucking months away! Who gives a fuck if you talk to him for a few weeks?
The trade was NOT FUCKING NECESSARY. Even OTAs were months away! Do you really think Cutler would have not shown up for camp months later? Do you think he'd hold the grudge that long? I sincerely doubt it.
And even if you believe he would have, since you seem to think he's Satan Incarnate, you could have traded him at that point. You seem to think the Broncos got fleeced by only getting *two* first-round picks for him, so it's hard to see how you think they would have done worse at a later date.
Seriously, nobody held a gun to their head and forced them to make the trade. It was absolutely immaterial to the situation that Cutler wasn't speaking to them almost four months before the start of the season. Heaps and gobs of players hold out and don't talk to their team up to the end of the pre-season!
It was a panic move, seen by nearly everyone with a football IQ over the average temperature in a Denver winter to be exceedingly stupid.

A. I do not think Denver got fleeced.
B. You have a new coach trying to put in a VERY complex playbook, and your starting QB won't talk to him, and is telling everyone he never will.
C. The owner, who has a actual relationship with Cutler, steps in because it's become a "he said, she said" front page story. Cutler won't answer calls, while all the time telling everyone that the owner is a liar and " I don't know why they are doing this to me".
The players knew what was up. Captains were brought in. Could Cutler have really come back to that locker room?
Maybe they could have held on to him, forced his hand, but why? The guy PROVED he was willing to bring endless drama, lie and poison the waters all he saw fit in order to get what he wanted. Players like that are the very antithesis of what McDaniel's is about.
You keep him?

Denver fans have pretty much forgotten to know what it feels like to have a team without a franchise QB.
They've been spoiled by two decades of Elway.
Now they will find out what it's like.

Your response further proves my point.
You think a 9 year span is long for not having a franchise QB? Then like i said, you've been spoiled.
Do you realize how many franchises have gone multiple decades without a franchise-producing QB?
I garuntee Kyle Orton will give u guys the "Bubby Bristers"
All you guys ever did was compare Cutler to Elway. Thats the measuring stick in Denver.

are you guys REALLY convinced that Kyle Orton is somehow an upgrade from Jay Cutler?
One of my main issues with those who think that this was a "bad move" (when in actuality it was the ONLY real move available) think that McD is sitting there going "On goody, we have our franchise QB".
This is at LEAST a two year rebuilding plan, probably three. Orton, or Simms, who by all accounts looks and feels good, will serve.

wasn't Jay Cutler the original 2 or 3 year rebuilding plan?

I never wanted to see Shanny get fired but i understand the move.
And I just hate anything and everything that stems from the Patriots.

if jerry jones was smart he'd get his ass in gear and put together a deal to lure shannahan to dallas. wade is a nice guy, but he's not the long term solution in big D...and neither is romo.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mike already has an office somewhere in Dallas.
