allergic to DRINKING!!!!

every time i drink i end up getting red blotches on my chest, back, neck and sometimes the face. what could this mean? could i be allergic?

Is this with all types of alcohol?

My friend is allergic to hops and he breaks out like that when he drinks beer.

is it just with beer or all spirits? if its with everything id say you are slightly allergic, if just beer it could be one of the ingredients

You will miss out on lots of lost memories, unremembered injuries and dry heaving.....I like drinking less and less these days. I find it so funny lots of people in my res etc think the drugs I do are bad. Like my neighbor one day said the drugs I do are worse than she. I drink once a week usually, smoke lots of weed, and do plant psychedelics. She drinks a lot more, smokes lots of weed (irrelevant), smokes cigarettes, and does coke occasionally. Yea, I'm hurting my body more...

My girlfriend's step dad gets those same red splotches when he drinks any type of alcohol. He didn't used to get them but after years of drinking they happen all the time now. He doesn't know why but he still drinks anyways. He's sort of an alcoholic I guess. I'd be very careful if I were you.

And I'm sorry I can't answer your question as to what it is but at least you know you're not the only one. I've seen it before.

i tend to drink a lot of Steele Reserve 211's which has hops in it, but i do remeber drinking whiskey one night and some one had made a comment that my face was red. i dunno though. i will look more into this later then come back and let yall know. i hope its nothing too serious. thanks for the input.

drinking at all will make your face a bit red. try sticking to spirits some night and see if you still break out. and get a real beer like natty ice :awesome:

That was my first reaction too. I have many friends who get the Asian glow :tongue:

I'm thinking another possibility could be celiac disease, which is an intolerance to glutens. You'd probably know if you had that by now though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease

Lastly, it's probably the shitty beer you're drinking. I'd imagine that if you stop drinking that Steel Reserve, you might have a different reaction. That stuff is like satan's piss in a can.

Yeah, Steel Reserve sucks by itself but for some reason it's good mixed half and half with vegetable juice.

that sounds pretty fowl but i really want to try it.

used to drink steel all the time with my uncle and stay up all night listening to records. my stomach can't take it these days.

It's better than it sounds. Just don't use a hoppy/skunky beer. I tried it once with some good beer and it was awful. I can't remember which brand. I've tried several brands actually, and finally decided Steel Reserve was the best.

It means build up your tolerence youll be fine. But seriously ive wondered the same thing about another substance...

If and when i fuck with methadone for 3 or more days in a row my face breaks out horribly though, and besides this, my face rarely breaks out.

I wish i could answer your question though, it is very interesting...
