Well they should have known that taking a job like that involved those kinds of risks. Its like going to war and expecting not to have to kill anyone.

Maybe one day we can all say 'fuck the police' with a little bit of dignity.

Shit is true. What just because he has a badge and a uniform it's different?
Bullshit. We're all animals and the world is a fucking jungle whether or not we like to think of it like that.

your logical suggestion is that if a cop has a gun we have the right to shoot them?  Therefor, advocating cop killings?

No what I'm saying is if someone has a gun and is doing their thing and isn't hurting anyone and then a cop comes over and starts harassing that person using his gun to assert dominance then that cop is asking to be shot IMO.

I'm joining the military and I recognize me joining the infantry is essentially asking to be put in a position for someone to shoot me. Cops should recognize the same; and the people should recognize the cop's responsibility that when he signed up he signed up for being in situations of extreme high stress, violence, and murder.

If the cop's first defense or method is to pull out a gun then yeah he deserves his chance of getting shot. IMO

(bare in mind my grandfather was a cop and I've heard a lot of stories and his opinion on cops and excessive use of force, etc)

All Im saying is that they're all bastards in the end. Enforcing bogus laws, harassing the people, and getting away with murder.

Two family members of mine are cops. they both have a mentality that they deserve respect for wearing a badge. They didn't become cops because they wanted to fight crime. They became cops because it was the next easiest job they could land. The authority they got turned them into arrogant, egotistic bullies. They are just as human as all of us, only they get away with alot more than most of us.

Not only that, they go back to the station and high-five each other for beating people. They like to brag about how they got the person to incriminate themselves or how they found the poor guy's nickle sack stash. Even the "good cops". Even they turn a blind eye. Look up the 'CODE OF BLUE'. It is real. They consider themselves a 'family'. The public is not part of their family. Its us and them, much like a real gang.

Quote:

Many police departments have their own code of conduct. They train new recruits and investigate police officers if they have a complaint from a civilian or a criminal. There are also some state laws put in place to help protect civilians and criminals from corrupted officers. If the officer is found guilty, officers can be sued by the victim for damage caused by police brutality, false arrest and imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and wrongful death.[4]

Federal laws strongly prohibit officer misconduct, including officers who follow the code by "testilying" or neglecting to report any officer who is participating in corruption. If an officer is in violation of any of the officer misconduct federal laws, only the federal government can issue a suit. The police department is only responsible for preventing corruption among officers. If an officer is convicted, they may be forced to pay high fines or be imprisoned. To be convicted, the plaintiffs must prove that the officer was following the code or participating in negligence and unlawful conduct. It is often hard to convict an officer of following the code or other forms of corruption because officers are protected by defense of immunity, which is an exemption from penalties and burdens that the law generally places on private citizens.[4]

"U.S. Supreme Court decisions have continually asserted the general rule that officers must be given the benefit of the doubt that they acted lawfully in carrying out their day-to-day duties, a position reasserted in Saucier v. Katz, 533 U.S. 194, 121 S. Ct. 2151, 150 L. Ed. 2d 272 (2001)."[4]
