Looks like you are using some funny color scheme or your operating system doesn't support the one that firefox is using.

Those are all processes for your graphics card, I doubt they'd be causing the problem. My guess is it's adblock plus. It looks like a .css is being blocked. I've found that when you're trying to troubleshoot addon problems in Firefox, disabling them isn't enough, you have to actually uninstall them. If all else fails though, yeah, just reinstall.

I second that, I set win7 to high contrast yesterday and it changed the color scheme on every site I went to.  I thought it was alright for a while, but it also fucked up formatting alittle too, kind of like what you showed.

Sometimes i get that too, usually when running the "no script" addon. Did you disable flash?

I doubt flash is the issue because there is a flash banner in his screen shot. It MIGHT have something to do with java though. It definitely looks like the css isn't loading or being rendered by Firefox.

I don't know enough about how css and Java work together (or even if they do) to tell ya if that'll do it or not. I'm thinking either the Firefox page renderer is corrupt or somehow had a setting changed or something is corrupt with Java.

Under the 'View | Page Style' menu do you have 'Basic Page Style' selected?

looks like the css doesn't get interpreted.

since i don't have the english version of firefox i must guess, but:

View -> Website Style -> Standard

Yes I do.  Will reinstall java unless folks have a better idea.  I really miss my firefox.

On another note a truly fresh install of Firefox failed to fix the problem.
Currently no add-ons and plugins except flash ... hmmm?

Thanks to everyone who put on a thinking cap for me!

Same thing happens to me EVERY time I restart my computer.  And it's not just Shroomery, it's all websites.  If I leave the computer for 30 mins to an hour, it goes back to normal on it's own.

Instead of turning it off, I just hibernate my computer.  Fixes the problem.  Of course I still experience it every time I need to restart after an update or something.

Extremely annoying.  Happens in Firefox and IE8

If it had anything to do with any of the suggestions you guys listed above, it probably wouldn't fix itself on its own, would it?

On top of all that, my icons also lose their "no highlight" feature, and get a blue background around the text.  All goes away at the same time.
