Why does Firefox Insist on trying to cram new versions down my throat every 3 or 4 weeks. I'll be in the middle of something and here they go taking over my screen with some crap announcement that ther is a new version.

I use firefox and I never get anything like that. Maybe it's because I'm using Ubuntu

I'm using Kali so the fact that you're using a linux distro probably has 0 to do with it. Rant over I had firefox set to automatically set to check for updates. Been too lazy to check.

Firefox cycles through version numbers so fast these days. Wasn't that long ago that they were on version 4 or 5, and now they're on 38 or some nonsense.

My firefox slowed down so badly
and it has this green circle thingy for loading everytime I try to load a page.
My PC's pretty empty but that sounds like spyware -_-
Owell, somehow it muffles my IP. Good stuff.

If you use a 64 bit OS, I recommend Waterfox.. the 64-Bit browser variant of Firefox. It's faster and not updated AS constantly. https://www.waterfoxproject.org

Yea the message I got was 38.01 or something like that. What really sucks though is you're automatically opted in to updates on most software so when something goes all kablooey You don't even know where to start to look to fix it.Quote:

Thanks but I got it it was just me being lazy and not shutting updates off.

Pale Moon is what I use, another 64 bit variant that is supposedly faster than Firefox. Regular Firefox is released in 64 bit for Linux but not Windows (at least as a non-beta release) for whatever reason.

I find firefox crashes on me constantly. Flash is always going down and it has trouble playing videos of all types. Reinstalled multiple times to no avail. Chrome seems like the most consistent. Ive got a sneaking suspicion chrome is whats causing firefox to fuck up so much though.

I tried Waterfox first and switched to Pale Moon for some reason, can't remember why either.
I think I like the old-fashioned approach to version numbers better, don't increment the ones digit unless you've made the program a lot better in areas the end user cares about.
