I recommend buying the crystal cat litter. It's 100% silica gel. You should be able to find it anywhere they sell cat supplies. If you cannot find this, anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that epsom salts work. Irrespective of which dessicant you choose to use, bake it for 1 hour at 400*F and let it cool before use for best results. To recharge, follow the baking process again.

Good luck!

Yeah, almost any pet stores that carry cat litter will carry this Pet Gold Crystals Cat litter additive, 100% silica gel, I think it's 1.29 or 3.29 for 4 ounces, or like 8.99 for like 8 pounds or something, go to petco.com, you can find all the info there. Enjoy!

it depends on where you live, i yous to live in jersey and could get damp rid at any paint store or home depot ... now i live in the dessert and get funny looks when i ask for damp rid at home depot ... no humidity no call for the product. the good news for me is i can just air dry (without a fan ) i yous to be paranoid about losing potency doing this but i have not found that not to be an issue. I'm not real impressed with the silica. If you can find it i'd recommend dam-rid/ anhydrous calcium cloride
or just calcium cloride

Any auto store/section should carry a CaCl ice melter, like "Driveway Heat" by Prestone. It works great.

100% Silica gel CAT LITTER?! Good lord, i'd hate to be a cat with an owner like that. It would stick to the cat's gonads and dry them up. If all else fails, try a clothing retailer.. some will keep it on hand as to keep masses of clothing dry in warehouses. A friend of mine used to work at one and they replaced it every so often... free old dessicant is a sweet deal.

Try the above stores but it you cant find Dessicant then go with baked epsom salt. Iv tried this before and it works awsome!

You can get epsom salt at your local drug store. Get it, bake it in the oven at 400F for one hour as stated above and put into air-tight jars or bags. It is important that once you take it out of the oven to get it into an air-tight container fast because it absorbes the rH around you quckly. Also after you bake it it might come out as one big chunck, smash it!

I also had a hard time finding the elusive "desicant" , try large paint stores like Frazzee , Sherwin Williams . But if you still cant find it there try a janitorial supply . Then if that fails go to www.graingers.com . Do a search for desicants (page 2801 I think ) They will have replacement cartridges . They are costly but reusable , they even have this one that changes color when it has reached moisture capacity . Keep those little bags thatcome out of vitamins  .
Good Luck
