hey is it safe to put fresh mushrooms in a tupperware container with damprid as long as the fungus isnt touchin the damprid? im thinkin about keepin the fungus in there with the damprid for 48 hours. is that enough time? peace

No

You need to put them on a fan first. If you don't, then there will be too much water in the mushrooms for the damprid to pull out. I guess you could theoretically keep changing out the damprid, but why do that when you can just fan them for a day or two and then put them with the dessicant?

Edit: if you wanted to avoid the fan step because you don't have a fan, they are pretty cheap at *-Mart. They have large box fans for like $11.

it's safe as long as it doesn't touch the dessicant. Dampride is non-toxic if im not mistaken, but you don't want the liquid collecting in the bottom to resoak into the fruits.

Just make sure you fan dry first.

toxic or non-toxic...dessicant tastes nasty...don't let the shrooms touch it...

Just let them sit on a piece of cardboard in the closet for 24 hours, then put in container with damprid. Works for me.

You can't have a fan on in your room whenever you want?  Tell your mom that you are grown up/growing up and need privacy and your own personal, private space

My friend's parents wouldn't even let him have a lock on his door; he's 21 now and in college, and still doesn't have a lock on his door @_@
