For reals or for wishes?

Wintersleep? I got excited for a second - I thought you were seeing wintersox.

During my recent hiatus from the Shroomery, I saw the Smashing Pumpkins. I can't tell you how psyched I was. SP was my favorite band when I was in High School, and when I saw them break up during my senior year, I was crushed. So, when they reunited, I made sure to buy my ticket as soon as I could. Now, I've heard from some people who saw the Pumpkins back in the 90's that they were disappointed when they saw them live. Fortunately, disappointment was not on the agenda for this concert. Billy fucking rocked it! I was completely blown away, and was reminded why I loved this band in the first place.

It was also cool to see Perry Farrell's new band Satellite Party, but it couldn't nearly match up to his years in Jane's Addiction.

Queens of the Stone Age - couple weeks ago in NY.

I think the band is at the top of its live performance, and the set was filled with some great songs, old and new.

A very good quality torrent here:

How do I find out more about concerts and shows?  I've never been to one.  :frown:  I'm not kidding.

Well, I went to a Christian concert once but..you can probably guess how that was.

Oh no! You must fix that asap. Live music is excellent.

Search for concert listings in your city or the entertainment section of your newspaper.  If you haven't heard of a band you can hear some samples on their myspace.

There are some awesome concerts that will never be again that are available on DVD...it's like being in the red seats.

The Grateful Dead at Radio City Music Hall has a nice acoustic set that starts w/Bird Song.

The Smashing Pumpkins at Voodoo Music Fest. They fucking rocked and I was tripping on 1 blotter. Billy Corgan's mouth fucking scares me.

I also saw some pumpkins this weekend at voodoo fest! despite having a bad trip during ben harper (ha i could see only orange and yellow and felt so sick to my stomach, anxiety attack i guess) I was back to euphoria by the time Pumpkins hit the stage and I am still pumped I finally got to see em live.

I went to see the Steve Miller Band and let me tell you just about 3 hours of straight rockin for that guy. He played covers from Clapton too! I'd definitely reccomend seeing him. Eric Johnson played with him but naturally, Steve Miller stole the show.

Darrel Scott played about a 45min set

and then the Avett Brothers played close to an hour set

surprise shows are awesome, especially when you don't have to pay, and this was a very small venue, but one of the best

DJ Krush, 4 hour set. My god in heaven, it was out of fucking control...I've never really been to full trip-hop/electronic concert before. Well, lets just say it was a life changer. It was on Halloween so the atmosphere was just great inside the venue. He played quite a bit...including some DJ Shadow that blew my mind away.

Its strange how different that kind of music is live.

Saw an Australian band called Dappled Cities last night, they were a yawner for the most part. Was gonna see the Decemberists but they cancelled their whole tour about seven hours before the show. D'oh.
