I haven't been to a show since the Touch and Go 25th anniversary show back in 06 in Chicago. Haven't really been paying attention to who is around but I know Don Caballero is going to be in Chicago in February so I'm making it to that show for sure.

Pit er Pat at the Smell in LA. The last time I saw them there I passed out from lack of food/being really stoned and it was hot as hell in there.

I didn't pass out this time and it was great.

The last show I saw was the early and late shows for the Max Creek Holiday office party. The early show was for families and the late show was for the the rest of us.
Before that I went to the Wormtown anniversary party with Max Creek, Zack Deputy and Domino Theory.
And the next show I will be going to is The Max Creekend in Rochester NY. On the 16th the lineup is, Max Creek w/Sleeping Giant and the Word of the Day and Family Dawgs. And on the 17th we will be seeing, Max Creek w/Sonic Garden and Family FUNKtion and the Sitar Jams.

And yes, This is why I am Creekfreek, I fucking love this band. If you havent heard them, give them a shot, you can find a whole shitload of them here.....

A friend and I took a roadtrip to The Max Creekend at The Water St Music Hall in Rochester NY. On the 16th the lineup was, Max Creek w/Sleeping Giant and the Word of the Day and Family Dawgs. And on the 17th it was, Max Creek w/Sonic Garden and Family FUNKtion and the Sitar Jams.

Family Dawgs and Sonic Garden were Grateful Dead cover bands and they both tore it up. I am going to say that Sonic Garden was the better of the two.
Sleeping Giant and the Word of the Day was awesome and I would go see them again anytime.

Family FUNKtion and the Sitar Jams was also amazing and I would travel to see them. Basic band with a sitar, hand drummer/drummer and a bass player. These guys were off the fucking hook.

And of course Max Creek tore us all up on both nights. Go see them or listen to their music, there is no band like Max Creek.

Oh yeah we might be going to see Scott Murawski and Mark Mercier from Max Creek on Friday night and Max Creek on Saturday night.
Yes we are hooked on them. What can I say?:shrug:

Yeah, they have absolutely stepped it up...I saw them back in August outdoors during the middle of the day but it was wonderful seeing them in a dark packed room and dancing my ass off.

Sounds good, the venue near me is a pretty big one though which is kinda disappointing. I like watching bands play tiny knit places, it's just so much better. Not to mention cheaper too.
