I had good expectations for this and its still impressing me.


Thats wheat straw pasteurized and sprayed with water/peroxide 3:1 with Thai Super Strain spawned to it 5 days ago.

I was wondering how I should case this? i know most of the time bulk grows don't have a bottom casing layer but i didn't start this in a tray. Also i don't know if this is a really known method but i found some wound dressings that make perfect filter patches. those bags are 2.5 gallon bags, just for a mental size helper.

did u just use straw?

did u patrurize it in those bags or put it in them afterward?

are they special bags?

gonna pick up some straw soon and am a bit worried

Its just straw but i hear alot of people having hardcore problems with straw, i shredded it, pasteurized with hot water for 90 minutes, removed and let drain, 12 hours later i dumped the straw into a large Tupperware and sprayed down with a mix of water and Peroxide, about 3 to 1, and spawned. The bags are not special, they are ordinary 2.5 gal. ziploc bags with filter patches cut in, i used some kind of first aid wound dressing, had to duck tape them in but they are working like a fuckin charm. I'm sure alot of you can figure it out but the H2O2 help the straw by killing any airborne contams that may come in contact, but the spawn you add is so much that the H2o2 has no chance, the myc. will quickly take over and damn.... this worked great, give it a go some time.

I still need to know about that bottom casing layer, some body please gimmie a hand.

From what I've read, the bottom casing layer just adds a possibility of an unseen contam, for only a small benefit. But I'm no expert; just throwing in my $0.02.

At times I get consumed by my everyday life and will leave the Shroomery. Yet, every time drugs come falling into my life for fun.....I always think about the Shroomery and then I'm back!

Call me crazy, but you most likely could fruit it as is.

Just Dunk it overnight and place it in some sort of martha set-up. Or you could probably even do it on a shelf, just leave the plastic loosely draped over it.

Make sure to let it pin up real nice in-vitro though!

I'm currently doing straw logs which is a very similar method, and you fruit them the way they are, no casing involved. Check it out...
