Auto-Summary
The post discusses a series of events surrounding bans and deletions on the DMT-Nexus forum, specifically targeting the user tregar. Key points include:

1. tregar's frustration over Allylbenzene's deleted post and perceived censorship.
2. tregar's claim of being banned for sharing a method to synthesize THH using zinc and janitorial ammonium hydroxide, contradicting the forum's stance.
3. A detailed analysis of lysergamides found in Morning Glory seeds, including eLysergamides, agroclavine, penniclavine, and lysergol, with references to scientific papers.
4. tregar's interest in ergoline alkaloids, particularly their psychoactive properties, and the potential for creating mind-expanding compounds without clavines.
5. Discussion of ergonovine and methylergonovine, highlighting their similarities to LSD and availability from foreign chemical suppliers.
6. Citing sources, including Nowak (2016), Owsley (1980), and a 2006 chapter on ergot alkaloids.

2. Remember my 2nd to last post on page 32, where I asked if "anyone" would please respond to the question at the dmt nexus in the lysegamides subforum title "lsh/lsi doubts" ? The curious individuals simply were looking for more info...well anyhow, 2 days ago I noticed Allylbenzene posted a very scientific and eorthwhile reponse, I could not have written it better myself, well today I go to the end of that subject posted on the nexus, and his response was deleted by the mod...in fact I would not doubt if he got banned...

4. Thank you S for your links to why 69ron got banned, I read all of it and had a feeling that was why...all about the fake false spectrograms of his THH from decades ago. IMAGINE how I felt when I was banned for being the first chemist ever to post on the nexus how to make THH over the counter using zinc and janitorial 10% ammonium hydroxide, a topic the nexus struggled to find a solution for over 10 years, I discovered how to do it, and posted it, only to be banned, and then to see my hard work show up in one of their teks, with no credit given to me. AGAIN, I am not 69ron and explain why myself being tregar and ava69, was banned twice from the nexus....do you all the pattern of their ways at the nexus now?

Yesterday I noticed that every single reply I made and some of my threads were deleted. They just kept a few of my threads. I guess they did some kind of a purge. As you know, Allylbenzene has a Bluelight acct. …

Contrary to your opinion of his post, I took issue with something he said and so I have part if his post in my notepad and I was planning on addressing it on Bluelight:

There are several other active alkaloids present in HBWR and MG seeds. You'll find papers discussing these alkaloids. This quote is about MG seeds:

Until I have my response written, you can read my opinion about clavines in one of my posts on DMT-Nexus, which is still up in the form of a quote in another user's post:

https://forum.dmt-nexus.me/threads/new-fungus-discovered-on-morning-glory-seeds-that-produces-lysergamides.372440/post-3962154

I'll post a copy of it here too:

Quote:
I'm way more interested in the ergolines, themselves, which can come from any of numerous sources, including synthesis from tryptophan. After recent MG seed experimentation, I was impressed at just how smooth and LSD-like the experiences were, but I was irritated by the effect on the body. According to Nowak 2016[1], penniclavine is the predominant chemical in these seeds. Ergoclavines have been associated with ergotism[2] and furthermore have never been associated with psychedelic effects. Someone who performed home chromatography on these seeds ingested the ergoclavine section and said, "Clavine caused hard vasoconstrion, nausea and pupil dilation but lacked psychedelic value. I could understand its medicinal value due to its vaso properties without altering consciousness but as a mind expanding compound I don't see its place."[3] So, naturally, I'd really like to see what the effect is like without the clavines; it should be noted that penniclavine is not necessarily found in substantial amounts in all batches of seeds,[4] just as lysergic acid propanolamide was found in one-tenth to one-third the amount of LAA.[1]

Speaking of lysergic propanolamide (more commonly known as ergonovine and ergometrine), it's fascinating that an analog of this substance is a take-home prescription and has psychedelic effects:

"The effects of methylergonovine were nearly identical to the effects of ergonovine, about which we reported earlier. However, we found methylergonovine to have roughly five times the entheogenic potency of ergonovine; that is, our 2.0 mg dose of methylergonovine was roughly as potent as a previous 10.0 mg dose of ergonovine. Both drugs share with LSD a characteristic complex of somatic sensations."

"both methylergonovine and ergonovine evoke lassitude and a dreamy semi-narcotic state, effects previously ascribed by Hofmann to d-lysergic acid amide"

From a Journal of Psychedelic Drugs article from 1980.[5]

"No, that’s not true. Ergot contains many natural, highly psychedelic alkaloids. [Isoergine] is one of them; hydroxy-methyl-lysergamide is another one, and in fact, is considered nearly identical to LSD in effect. Albert Hofmann told me so himself. They believe that it was this derivative contained in extracts of [C. paspali] that was used in the [Eleusinian] Mysteries." –Owsley[6]

"hydroxy-methyl-lysergamide" is a reference to ergonovine, i.e., one of ergonovine's synonyms is N-(α-(Hydroxymethyl)ethyl)-D-lysergamide.[7] Furthermore, Owsley references The Road to Eleusis and ergonovine is the focus of chapter 2 in that book.

"Never had any experience with LSD but did try LSA (Morning Glory) 3 times (around 80 seeds first time, 150 second and 380 last time). People say the feelings are very similar to LSD (not sure about the visuals)."

"The feeling was very, very similar to LSA minus the bodily discomfort and anxiety. I know lysergic acids share structure with phenethylamines so dopamine activity is bound to happen I guess. But the stimulation was very noticeable in Methylergometrine compared to LSA."

I've found that both ergonovine and methylergonovine are available from foreign chemical suppliers. 👍

See Table 3.
Concentration values for "LSH", "Lyzergol/isobars", penniclavine, and chanoclavine can be obtained by dividing the concentration values of ergine or ergometrine by their relative abundance value of the specified chemical.

2. "Clavines are thought to contribute substantially to convulsive ergotism, since C. fusiformis ergots, which possess clavines, but no [lysergic acid] or lysergyl amides, cause convulsive symptoms (26). However, the ergopeptines are known to produce similar symptoms, and are also thought to cause gangrenous ergotism (6). The occurrence of convulsive ergotism without dry gangrene suggests that other clavine or lysergyl alkaloids are involved, or that individual effects of specific ergopeptines may give clinically different syndromes (6)."

Another comment of his:

"When isolating through chromatography you will notice 2 bands. First the thickest being Lsa the second being a small amount of lsh, the amount of which is dependent on how long ago the seeds where harvested from the vine. I person collect both lsa and lsh when fractioning the lysergaminde as lsh radically converts to lsa no matter what you do."

4. "But only 2 clavines really are in the seeds in relevant amounts: Elymoclavine and Chanoclavine.
Usually there is only a quite small amount of Elymoclavine. Most is usually Chanoclavine.
I read many times in papers that Chanoclavine."

He was banned. There's a simple way to know if someone was banned on a XenForo forum (and also on this forum): they stop showing the person's username in the username suggestions drop-down in the search bar. I just asked him why he was banned on Bluelight…

Please take a look in the mirror guys. There might be a common thread between these bans, and they might be justified, despite the fact that you both believe you have been hard done by. Sometimes we can be wrong about these things.

I am going to try to shepherd this thread...

Opening:
I’ve been following this discussion and I see two things happening: the chemistry speculation about LSH/LSI, and the frustration over credibility, bans, and old forum drama.

Science VS. Social:
Regardless of who posted it first, the LSH/LSI idea can be talked about on its own terms. Whether or not Tregar is 69ron or S240779, doesn’t change if the chemistry stands or falls. This is a worthless discussion.

Let's Look At the Chemistry:
As I understand it, the idea is that LSA can form adducts with aldehydes (like isovaleraldehyde), and some think these adducts may have LSD-like activity. That’s an interesting hypothesis, but it needs actual data (spectra, assays) before we can know if it’s more than speculation.

Let's Standardize This Subject:
Personal experiences can spark hypotheses, but for the community to move forward, reproducible data is needed. Even a single spectrum or lab note would go a long way.

Now, Lets De-center the Drama:
It feels like a lot of energy is going into identity accusations. Maybe the most useful thing would be to focus on the chemistry itself, and leave the personalities out of it.

Closing:
What I’m seeing is two knowledge styles clashing: visionary speculation vs. reproducible science. Both have value, but they play by different rules. Maybe that’s why the thread feels so divided.

Where This Leaves Us:
If we want to stop going in circles, the only real way forward is evidence. That means designing and running a clear, reproducible experiment that compares:

  • Plain LSA extract (control)

  • LSA extract exposed to an aldehyde (test)

  • Proper blanks and standards alongside

Then analyzing with something like LC-MS or NMR to see if new adducts actually form and persist. If yes, we’ve got chemistry to discuss. If no, the idea can be put to rest.

This way the question isn’t about usernames, memories, or anecdotes — it’s about data. Once the results are in, the debate ends, one way or another.

Now, let's get to work instead of bickering... please?

PS. I have access to mass spectrometry equipment and full permission to use it for this subject. No more trolling — let’s actually figure this out. I’m a microbiologist working under a Yale-trained anthropologist, and my goal here is to standardize this question and put it to rest with real data. From this point forward, any posts not contributing to the study will be treated as noise.

Dude, this discussion sparks from posts which are more than 20 years old and there is still nothing backing the idea. That might help you understand the criticisms… many people have tried these experiments and failed to reproduce them like they are told by Tregar and 69ron.

I’m not convinced that Tregar is s240, I think they’re different people. That’s irrelevant though to the specific discussion, like you said.

The fact of the matter remains.

This was first hypothesised by an entity on a forum (who is probably a Tregar puppet) and it has been repeated by probably thousands of people, including me, who have either not seen the reported effect or who have not reported their results.

Now, using common sense, I think we can pretty safely assume that if all this hype about LSH and LSI is true, then we would see some kind of internet movement towards it from people who actually have credentials and know their shit. And also from regular folks like me who try this stuff at home.

But what do we actually see? We see the same hypothesis, in slightly different variations over the years, mainly from puppet accounts, never being confirmed by anyone.

I’m not saying this disproves anything, but it shares an extreme amount in common with ideas that are plain wrong.

People have been banned from websites populated by people who actually know chemistry and work in that field for speculating endlessly that this stuff is fact.

The question is, why would this all end up this way 20+ years later if it were actually a cheap and easy way for the lay person to create a good LSD substitute?

I think you and almost everyone else should be able to answer that question for yourselves.

The hydroxyethylamide long thought to be psychoactive actually can never reach the brain, since this compound is a labile adduct of ergine and acetaldehyde. It is therefore transformed into ergine and isoergine rapidly, even by mild extraction methods.

Peter Webster. Quoted by tregar, https://drugs-forum.com/threads/lucid-visual-morning-glory-extract-theory.30919/#post-184703 (2006-09-04)

LAHydroxyethylamide was not discovered right away since even gentle extractions tended to convert it all to ergine/isoergine, so this would indicate that the equilibrium lies far toward the ergine/isoergine side of the equation. And it suggests strongly that to produce LAH from ergine you would need some special conditions, which are probably not just having it in the presence of even higher concentrations of acetaldehyde, amounts that you wouldnt at all want to ingest!

Also, since LAH->>ergine in mild conditions, you must assume that it would happen in the bloodstream, even if LAH were able to pass the digestive tube. So there is anotherdoubt about whether it could actually arrive at brain receptors.

Of course, there may be some complicating factors here that aren't described in the papers I've read, That's possible with a great many aspects of LA chemistry (there are still a couple of quite important and unexplained results I got in certain experiments - I even asked Sasha and he couldn't clarify!) but for me, the odds of LAH getting to receptors and causing the initial reaction leading to psychedelic experience are quite low.

Auto-Summary
In a forum post, S240779 argues against the notion that ergonovine, also known as ergometrine, is the key psychoactive compound in LSD or magic mushrooms. Despite being the primary alkaloid in certain fungi, ergonovine lacks euphoria and causes severe side effects like cramping and muscle spasms. The post cites historical and scientific evidence, including ancient accounts of the Eleusinian Mysteries and modern experiments by Jeremy Bigwood and colleagues. These experiments showed that ergonovine induced mild visual alterations and leg cramps, but no euphoria or entheogenic effects like those of LSD or psilocybin. The author emphasizes the importance of distinguishing Claviceps paspali from Claviceps purpurea, as the latter can cause poisonous ergotism. The post concludes that ergonovine is not a suitable candidate for psychedelic experiences, contrasting it with more effective compounds like LSD and LSI.

S240779, before I leave for 7 months, will post my disagreement with ergonovine being the golden alkaloid that you believe may be the cause of LSD activity. We can agree to disagree and there is nothing wrong with that.

For one, the 300 initiates at Eleusis who drank the Kykeon composed of ergot, the writings indicate that even "pregnant women" attended, yet ergonovine can cause spontaneous abortions...and quite heavy cramping, it's not a pleasant experience, ergonovine induces ZERO euphoria, unlike LSD, LSI, psilocin, mescaline which are very euphoric.

This is well supported by the infamous scandalous event that took place in 415 B.C. when the powerful political and military leader of Athens Alkibiades stole the kykeon at Eleusis and entertained by it himself and his friends.

Another conclusion can be inferred from this incident: the ingestion of the kykeon must have been a pleasant and therefore sought-after experience. This was confirmed by many writers of antiquity who participated at the mysteries, and to my knowledge there are no reports on bad trips in the ancient texts that have been preserved.

Ergonovine (another name for ergometrine) is not a pleasant experience with major side effects at low doses like severe cramping and muscle spasms.

Don't get claviceps paspali confused with claviceps purpurea, which causes ergotism and is poisonous.

Yes, I have read about prescription SANSERT which is similar to ergonovine (ergometrine) but still nothing like real LSD or LSI, and SANSERT is also very short lasting.

When people trip off ergometrine (highest "active" alkaloid in HBWR), they are experiencing trips as detailed in this report by Bigwood, note the lack of euphoria and extreme vasoconstriction and cramping, most considered it to not be psychedelic.

--> HBWR contains much higher levels of ergometrine than morning glory seeds, which is why I keep my dose lower when making LSI from it. Claviceps Paspali ergot which infects grass also has very low levels of ergonovine, just like morning glory seeds. Morning glory and claviceps paspali only contain from 1 to 3% ergometrine, whereas HBWR contains 17%.

3 experimenter's effects when ingesting pure ergonovine, another name for ergometrine (found in HBWR), June 1979 Journal of Psychedelic Drugs, morning glory contains very low levels of ergometrine at only .03% whereas HBWR seeds contain .17% (quite high), ergometrine causes cramping and vasoconstriction, see below:

Quote:
In the January-June 1979 issue of the Journal of Psychedelic Drugs, Jeremy Bigwood, Jonathan Ott, Catherine Thompson and Patricia Neely report on their attempt to replicate Hofmann's finding in three experiments with ergonovine maleate, each time in one pastoral setting. They were following up Wasson and Ruck, who tried the same amount as Hofmann but "did not experience distinct entheogenic effects."

With Thompson acting as a guide, three of them took 3mg. of ergonovine maleate, which appeared as a slightly phosphorescent bluish solution in water. Fifteen minutes later they felt like lying down and looking at the sky; then there were "very mild visual alterations, characterized by perception of an 'alive' quality in inanimate objects." Most of this effect passed within an hour; walking along the beach, they experienced mild leg cramps. Bigwood saw eidetic imagery before going to bed, and the three "slept easily...awakening refreshed in the morning."

The three experimenters were "convinced that ergonovine was psychoactive, but only J.B. was persuaded the drug was entheogenic." They decided to try it again two weeks later in an increased dosage of 5 mg., but Neely took only 3.75mg. "Again, we experienced lassitude and leg cramps, more pronounced than in the earlier experiment." The psychic effects were more intense than previously, particularly eidetic imagery. "Now it was clear to all of us that ergonovine was entheogenic...The entheogenic effects, however, were very mild, while the somatic effects were quite strong. We had none of the euphoria characteristic of LSD and Psilocybin experiences."

To determine if higher consciousness alteration was possible, they tried larger oral doses of ergonovine maleate a week later. This time, Neely took a dose of 7.5mg and the others took 10mg:

"One of us (J.O.) described "flashes in periphery, ringing in ears, inner restlessness" 40 minutes after ingestion, and later noted "mild hallucinosis, cramps in legs and felt the cramping in the legs as painful and debilitating. The psychic effects did not increase with the same magnitude as the somatic effects...For what seemed like hours, we lay on our backs atop a small pumphouse, watching fluffy cumulus clouds pass silently above us. The effects were still quite intense six hours after ingestion. One of us experienced abundant eidetic imagery, rapidly-changing, colorful geometric patterns, undulating, never still. We all had a slight hangover the following morning."

I know that Brian Muraresku (author of the recent "Immortality key") fabulous book by the way, and highly recommend everyone read it, re-posts in the book that he believes that maybe ergometrine is the secret LSD like alkaloid, but as you can tell from the experimenter's writings above, it's just not a candidate.

I don’t think he’s been disrespectful man. He’s just disagreeing…

I for one find HBWR can be very euphoric in the right dose. So I’m not sure what Tregar is talking about really. I actually find that HBWR in very small amounts to be more euphoric than some shroom trips and acid trips I’ve had. It’s a completely different feeling, more akin to something like opium than LSD sometimes, but still trippy in its own way.

It all depends on the dose. I’ve had some horrible times on HBWR as well on higher amounts.

So like, has this ever been verified in a lab setting with GC/MS?

I'd love to see a sample sent in for testing at a analytical lab with proof this stuff is actually real

The so called sources on page 1 are... beyond weak
