The compulsion to rape granny represents an evolutionary dead-end.

Evolution is true BECAUSE not everyone reproduces.

Why does every thread you make seem to be based on your ability to laugh at "all of us" for your own misconceptions? :picard:

Your study shows that it gave improvement in 6/8 women, and a 7th experienced partial improvment.  That's a pretty large percentage.

And again, the 8th person might have had low libido due to something else, like depression.

And this study on rams shows that they consistantly mate more often when they have more testosterone:

Exactly and if testosterone if depression can be a stronger precursor to lack of sexual response, then obviously mental influences take the strongest influence on human beings, because they cannot undue the activities of the mind.

Actually

Check this one out too

Testosterone therapy for low sexual interest and erectile dysfunction in men: a controlled study
R O'Carroll and J Bancroft

A double blind cross-over comparison of testosterone and placebo injection was carried out in two groups of men with normal circulating testosterone levels, 10 complaining principally of loss of sexual interest and 10 complaining principally of erectile failure. A significant increase in sexual interest was produced by testosterone in the first group. There was no effect on erectile function in either group. These results support previous findings from hypogonadal men that testosterone influences sexual interest but not erectile function, and indicate that increasing plasma testosterone can effect sexual interest even in men with pre-treatment testosterone levels within the normal range.

Now, although this seems to support your theory, reading the last line supports mine(that these people are getting a change of perspective on their sexual issue, which previous to the study lead them to believe that they were the ones at fault for their problem)

Why?

Well, testosterone therapy,, if you read carefully, helped people with NORMAL testosterone levels, thereby neutralizing the theory that low-levels(not normal) of testosterone are the cause of low libido.

Thats the problem with these studies...the study itself might have an positive affect on the person, by offering them a different perspective on their issue.

I know that when I feel fucked up about myself I am less horny....

BTW AlphaFalfa why are you even posting here? There's an entire forum just waiting to tell you why you're wrong, it's called Philosophy Sociology & Psychology and these ridiculous attempts at "debate" threads you've been posting here would be a lot more appropriate there. Or were you banned from PS&P?

Well, let's look at a similar situation.

People with low serotinin can be made happier when their serotonin levels are increased to the normal level.  And people with normal serotoninn levels can be made even happier by increasing that level past normal (with MDMA, for example).

So testestonerone consistantly increased libido, even in people with normal levels.  And serotonin increases happiness in people, even with normal serotonin levels.

I don't think that contraticts anything I've said.

Yes it does, because in nature, testosterone levels, would be at a base 'normal' level that all people, according to the theory of testosterone(as a precursor to sexual drive) would not need testosterone.

If it is natural, then all beings of that species MUST BE AFFECTED equally.

Therefore, you cannot have one case dislodged from positive effects. The word natural describes something that all beings are limited to.

People get born with genetic defects. People get born in such a way as not to be able to reproduce. People get born in such a condition as to die within minutes of childbirth.

Some people just get fucked over by nature, one way or another, and the human endeavor may be seen as an attempt to circumvent or prevent this.

But sometimes, you get some kid who just can't get off unless he's raping an elderly woman, or a newborn who came out with his skin inside-out.

 So it goes.

Firstly, there is millions of people who find sexual arousal from children and also millions who find no sexual arousal from anything.

I don't make half assed assumptions, I am very thorough in my rationality.

Secondly, when it comes to the context of 'natural' and what is to be deemed either natural or mental, a precursor to being able to categorically presume 'natural' origin on an act(sexuality) is by virtue of the definition, affecting all equally. Ie. If one makes the claim that it is natural for humans to eat, then all humans must abide by that precondition, otherwise either, A. They are not human Or B. Humans do not naturally eat, but rather eat out of lack of ability to do so otherwise.

Just like me and you, I do not lack the ability to change my sexual preference and you do. Clearly, either A. I am a super human or B. Sexuality is psychological or mentally originated.

I identify as heterosexual - however, I do acknowledge the possibility that I probably could, if I wanted to, have sex with a man and ejaculate in him. I could also reverse roles.

Nobody can or would deny this.

The difference is that I actually prefer to have sex with women. And that's why I call myself straight.

I don't really understand from where your outrage with societal norms stems, unless you actually are omnisexual and get uncontrollably aroused by every living, breathing (or not) human being (or not).

Honestly, social outrage doesn't exist in my vocabulary. Are you asking me why I do not believe 'normal' conceptions about sexuality?

Were on a forum, my outrage is just in your perception...I sit here calmly, analyzing and having fun.

But to answer your question, they are painful for me to believe in because they limit a complex subject. It is like limiting the subject of drugs, for example, your bound to miss out. Hallucinogens are bad, any thinking about them being good is bad, etc....they rot the brain, they make people go crazy....what else is something 'normal' that makes people miss out on something they might be looking for? I know if someone told me this a few years back when I believed the norms, I would have felt a great sense of relief.

I think what you're attacking is not so much the actual perceptions people hold, but the terminology they use - the tendency to group themselves and others into seemingly non-porous categories of "heterosexual," "homosexual," "pedophile," "geriatrophile," and so on, as though these traits were as certain and determinate as sex or skin color.

I would have to agree, but I find the way you word your posts to be somewhat... antagonistic?

Thats how.
