DIY CO2 Injection

I DIYed my lights and saved tons of money. Ballasts and bulbs are a lot cheaper at the Electricians Warehouse than the grow store. And the warehouse raises fewer eyebrows, unless you go inside looking like a dirty hippie. I have a small growroom 8'x8'; for hydroponic tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and greens, also two small citrus trees and coffee plants.
Now I want CO2 to increase fruit production and I am left wondering how to DIY. According to the kit they sell at Worms Way; you need a flowmeter and regulator, a solenoid, a timer, tubing and gas. Where can I buy these things cheaply and put it together myself?

http://www.wholesaledraft.com/Merchant/merchant.mv  sells shit for co2 beer dipsensors....they may have some of the parts you seek.

Also search around the net for industrial supply.....such as HGR, McMaster-Carr, maybe Northern tool.......


Im curious, with such a big grow room, how do you keep the pest's at bay? 

I had trouble keeping mites out of my 2x2 area :smile:

Its in the basement. When it was just the 400WMH, temps were under 55F, because my peas set flower and I also lagered beer there as well. Now it is 1000WMH and it is like 73 w/o ventilation and around the mid 60s with a fan blowing basement air into the room.

Why not get a small propane burner and rig up your own? Hose, flashback arrestor, propane regulator, and a stove top burner rigged up from a junk stove. Make a metal housing or use some chimmney pipe with a metal cap like the wood stove types. model to model

You can find the low pressure regulators at welding shops or glass blowing shops, along with the hosing, and flash back arrestors. You can get regulators for propane tanks made to run at 1- 100 psi. You would probably wanna run at one or two. Flash back arrestors are important because you don't want the flame to reach back to the tank. These things let gas flow only one way.

ive seen people use crow scarers, reprogrammed to make their own co2 release system, so if u can get ya hands on one of those things they have the components u need.
