I keep forgetting the journal is a thing, lol.  I might still do 'er as a thread in Sci+Tech and do the signature link thingie.  Better mouthfeel or somethin', ya know?

[ETA]
Also, I'm...well, I don't care for generative AI.  Like, at all.  Putting aside the fact the models are trained on mountains of stolen content, consume copious amounts of precious fresh water, contaminate said fresh water w/ their run-off, and gleefully butt-fuck the local power grid... (deep breath)  They're also contributing to the cognitive decline of its users.  I don't wanna empower further, actual brainrot.  I'm better than that.  YOU'RE better than that.  We're ALL better than that, because we are ALL better than the Peters Thiel, Elons Musk, and Jeffries Epstein Bezos of the world.

yes!  I love that movie. I love scary shit in general.

I just watched a movie called "Backrooms" the othe night that totally terrified me in a good way. Reminded me of a bad ketamine hole. Or the time I OD'd on O-PCE.  Endless labyrinth of fluorescent lit hallways and rooms that seem vaguely familiar with furniture and people that seem real but aren't quite right.

There's just some small time YouTube guy who liked making stuff in blender. It's awesome that he got to make an actual in theater movie.
He makes stuff pretty consistently on YouTube still.

Oh no way. We will definitely have to check that out. It did get a tiny bit gory at the end but I will see what else he's got

All of his stuff is very compelling but I linked this one in particular because I've become a little obsessed with it. He got ahold of some blueprints and archival footage of a giant mall in Dallas that was demolished a few years ago which makes it soooo much more uncanny. The Giant was also modeled after a real parade float and shit. I can't wait for the Backrooms sequel cause he absolutely knocked it out of the park with the first one.

Enjoy your chili! Do you do anything special with the recipe?

Man, I ain't made chili in a hot minute.  Maybe I'll see if'n I can't make some for Halloween.  Beans, meatn't, other veg, slow-cooked in a Dutch oven.  Homemade chili concoction.  Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, I'm makin' myself hungry, lol.

Well, duc is allergic to onions so i gotta work around that.
I like to put a whole butternut squash in there for sweetness.
I also use a shitload of sambal, because. Sambal!

I have a confession:

The mushrooms can sometimes bring me such ecstasy that I get the message of I need to call 911 to notify the authorities of this new alien technology in my hands that can end scarcity.

Thankfully gf stopped me this past time.

Last time emergency came a few years ago, I told them I was God. Nothing came from it, story was too high on legal edibles.

Like, unfortunately my brain convinces me that the simulation made the "Don't Call the Cops" a funny barrier to bypass to transcend into the next levels.

Anyhow, gonna ask her to hide the phone in advance,

Oh man, I put a whole onion in every chili. Ever put lentils in there? I've been getting red and brown lentils lately and I put a cup each in my chili.
