Like died as in won't turn on? It could be just the thermal fuse, you can replace those for a few bucks. Mine has gone through a few over the years.

Nah, not so lucky I think. The fan started sounding like a worn out bearing and now it's stiff to turn, pretty sure the fan motor is toast. Might try and find a replacement motor though. The dehydrator works really well when it ain't broke. 😆

Not the digital one, I went with the simplest one I could find. This one is pretty quiet and works very well (when it ain't broken).
I also have a nesco garden master but I rarely need that big loud bastard.

They musta came out with that within the last year.  Probably in response to all the complaints about their digital.  It’s so loud

You could buy the manual version for a few years now already,  when I imported my presto I had a few options.

The digital one is loud for sure.

This one is model: Presto 06300 Dehydro.
600w, quiet and effective. It has no temp controls and no power switch.
The trays are slightly flexible, grabbing a stack one handed can feel a little risky.
I think this model was probably intended for occasional use. It's designed around being collapsible for storage.
Not sure I'd pick this exact one again but that's mostly because I prefer designs that have the fan/heater on the bottom of the stack. Those are slightly easier for me to load/unload.
