What happened with the US version of the trucker convoy protests? * 2
    #27679514 -

There are some recent reports coming in that the US trucker convoy protests are not getting much momentum. Thoughts?

My hunch is that the whole movement was ultimately orchestrated by Russia, but was expected to be a bigger domestic distraction in the US during this Ukraine invasion.

Looks like a bust. Where's "mighty white" (Right name?) been lately? I would love to hear from him because he posts about trucking all the time. I think the truckers here know better than to fuck up their livelihood because people are so expendable here due to capitalists and corporatists making the rules.

https://uproxx.com/viral/maga-trucker-convoy-bob-bolus-bust/
The anti-vax trucker protests that plagued parts of Canada over the last month are currently winding down, though they did more than clog cities like Ottawa. They also inspired copycats in France. But a MAGA-themed version, which was set to “choke” D.C. on Wednesday, stumbled right out of the gate.

As per The Daily Beast, MAGA trucker Bob Bolus had hyped up a convoy of 10 to 20 trucks that would march from Scranton to D.C., which it would treat like the Canadian truckers did Ottawa. Their purpose? To protest vaccine mandates. He later added other grievances, including immigration, the death of Jan. 6 protester Ashli Babbit, and, of course, Critical Race Theory.

“I’ll give you an analogy of that of a giant boa constrictor,” Bobus boasted. The threat was so real that the Pentagon approved of nearly 700 National Guards personnel to assist local authorities should multiple convoys create gridlock.

But no such constricting was to happen. Why? Because no one showed up. That’s not true. Bolus showed up with his 18-wheeler, though he was late to arrive because he got two flat tires. Reuters reporter Julio-César Chávez, who traveled alongside the much diminished convoy, counted five pick-up trucks, one SUV, and one Sedan, for a total of eight vehicles of varying sizes, most of them quite small.

I think they're in Indiana today. Supposed to be in DC by the weekend.

I think this is the biggest one, but I think there are other smaller ones, also?

This was yesterday.

I saw some video from what looked to be a decent turnout for a US based convoy. The problem is that a decent turnout is like 100 trucks. Keep in mind there have been protests with 100,000 people in DC on many occasions. Easily hundreds of thousands marched for BLM nation wide, no trucks required.

I still don't understand why truckers are worthy of political worship. There just isn't anything freedom like about their work, so it is all incredibly hypocritical. And these convoys are all way too late. They should have hit the road 6 months ago. It's almost like they spend all their time in vehicles and can't pay attention to current events.

So it seems like they Peterbilt out.

Thanks for bringing sources guys, I was lazy about that. Didn't want to put links in the OP that people would probably expect me to defend the accuracy of, since I'm not sure who may be correct about turnouts.

Organizers for the U.S. “Freedom Convoy” quickly changed plans when only five trucks arrived at the event. A group of truckers left California on Friday to head towards Washington, D.C. to protest COVID mandates. Organizers revealed that when they made their first stop in Las Vegas, the turnout was quite small. After seeing the low attendance, they decided to call off what was supposed to be a ten-day event.

Organizers of “Freedom Convoy USA 2022” expected “1,000 to 2,000” truckers to join their convoy.

It could be huge but the press won’t report it.

It's quoted above in an article written by the press that five trucks showed up.

Organizers told truckers to join the much larger “People’s Convoy.”

This group of over 100 truckers has garnered almost $1 million in donations and also left California the same day. Additionally, “Freedom Convoy” organizers also encouraged truckers to join “The Texas Convoy,” another group with a more hefty following.

You’ve been shooting your load early these days.  Get your head back in the game.

Is it some kind of quantum convoy that only exists when we look at it?
