Aliens, Angels and Avatars

Anyone find it interesting that Vishnu is blue like the blue characters in Avatar?

Terrence Mckenna spoke of Aliens, Angels and Avatars and how different archetypes are part of psychedelic journeys.

Why do these exist and which archetypes are folks familiar with and why do seem to come up in so many "trips"

I've thought that it's because they generally reside in the "mental plane", or any above the physical.  I wouldn't waste much of my time with this petty bs if I was a fucking avatar of god.  They just wait till you outgrow it - aka death.  In my view, Earth is something of a playground, where you learn what works for you.  And like any playground, there are bullies who abuse this fact and rally other fools to their cause.

Interesting, because of where they reside (mind) then obviously thats why they are so triply and out there. So you are saying there is nothing physical about avatars?

Sometimes they do transcend (or descend, I guess).  These are the Jesus, Buddha etc figures.

Edit: Perhaps when we need them most.  Keep an eye out :wink:

If you don't anthropomorphize the definition of avatar, (which now that I say that, why would you, ego?) then, sure, mushrooms could embody the archetype of what humanity should be, in a sense.  I've read things from people who believed that Jesus, as opposed to being an actual person, was this archetype, more or less.  Nature is always teaching the subtlest, yet most meaningful things, but we are rarely listening.

When your only relying on your third eye, I could see how calling on a deity seems as a natural development on a dream or journey as things are already tripped out.

Yes, though this deity may just be your "higher self" which resides in higher planes, as it "embodies" what you are looking for, in a sense, and, therefore, what is deepest within you.  Think of one those sport tournament bracket things.

If, instead of reading from left to right, it read as left is the bottom, right is as you go higher.  Each of the bottom tiers being a human, that coalesces with its respective higher self.  Each higher self is, in a way, just like us on another level, that we will merge with and continue contributing to this scale.  Really hard to explain, and I lost the point I was trying to get across.

Edit:  Oh yeah (kind of), as this is "all in your head", I like to employ the quote:  "As within, as without".  The deeper you go in your psyche, you are likewise going outwards into the universe/multiverse, with different vibrational frequencies respondent to what you are currently experiencing.  Again, tough to get across in words.

The brackets reminds me of some stuff I was reading on the tabernacle pattern that god gave to moses for some reason. Also kinda reminds me of fractals being patterns of themselves.
