Uh.. actually the earth is supported by four elephants who balance on the back of a turtle who is balancing on a cobra-- earthquakes are caused when any of these animals lose their balance.

God is moving furniture in heaven.

Everyone knows that's what earthquakes are.

A few years ago there was a minor quake here in Alabama from the New Madrid fault. You couldn't feel it but you could see all your furniture shaking back and forth and hear stuff bumping on the walls. It was weird.
