100$ ticket for no seatbelt has just turned into 500$ and soon a warrant for my arrest!!!!! advice

so about 2 months ago i was pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt (first time). i asked the officer how much the ticket would be he said he didnt know.
i got the ticket in the mail over a month later saying i owed $139.
im super tight on cash, im a college student and i only work 10 hours a week with those paychecks i can barely cover gas and car insurance.
i havent been able to pay the ticket.
i got another letter today saying i had to pay $450 or appear in court on the 8th.

i stil have absolutly no way to pay. will the court work out a payment plan for me (like $10 a week?)

will they suspend my license or something like that?

can i show the court that i dont make any money and get it reduced or thrown out?

i swear it was just a one time brain fart, i always drive with my seatbelt on. i was just wondering if anyone has had to court for a ticket and was unable to pay. what did the court do?

Your not going to get much mercy for not paying it. In the case you can't afford court fees or tickets, always contact the court before your time is up. Sometimes it's an easy way to avoid paying anything at all

yea, courts almost always have payment plans in place for people who need more time to pay.  you might want to consult with a lawyer to see if he would be able to reduce the fines... consultation's always free. 

let this be a lesson learned.  wear your seatbelt and pay your tickets.

my seat belt ticket was $45 for 'improperly wearing' a seat belt ...oh and driving an uninsured and unregistered car! :awesome:
