Whatever you say guys.  Keep on buying those witty hallmark cards and chocolates in heartshaped boxes for your soulmates, cause love is just soo beautiful, and it means so much more when you spend money on it!

Of course I realize that affection between people is a wonderful feeling, and I would never deny that true happiness between partners exists.  All I'm saying is that monogamy is a only societal expectation, and we were never biologically hardwired for it.

Hell, if our ancestors had been monogamous, evolution would slow to a fucking snail's crawl.

If our ape ancestors had been all about life-long contracts and exclusive relationships, we'd all be still dragging our knuckles on the ground.

You have to be able to distinguish the difference between love and the exploitation of love.  To argue against the idea of love under the assumption that love is the act of buying and giving certain items, is actually an informal fallacy.  You are choosing the weakest interpretation of what love is and revolving your entire argument and point of view around it.  It's called the "straw man" fallacy.

Don't be so certain about what we were biological hardwired for.. There are many animals in nature aside from humans that seek out monogamous relationships, so monogamy isn't just a product of human minds.  Anyway, I'd have to disagree with you about there being more societal pressure to be monogamous.  If you turn on the TV every show is more or less about people fucking... The advertisements are about fucking.  Magazines contain articles about how to fuck, who to fuck, then flip the page and there's a pill to take to burn fat, making you more fuckable..  If you ever hang out with a group of dudes, odds are they will talk about who they fucked or who they want to fuck next.

This sounds more like de-evolution to me.  All of the intellectual types who prefer to read and advance the collective knowledge of the inhabitants of earth will be weened out of the gene pool by a bunch of horny Neanderthals whose primary focus in life is to go out and "fuck everybody they meet."

If our ancestors were monogamous, maybe we wouldn't have a population approaching 8 billion, far exceeding the capacity of this planet.  Maybe there wouldn't be illegitimate children all over the god damn place that nobody cares about, maybe there wouldn't be any Paris Hiltons, or any of these strange looking orange people...

Sorry to burst your bubble but in this situation beyond 5-10+ years of actually being married, the dude never loved the girl.

I've been in love and never wanted anything else but my girl even if another girl was modelled to perfection I always labelled her as sexy and then thought bout fucking my girlfriend at the time. Was like this for years, even after she told me she didn't love me like I loved her and we broke up.

True love is a fairy tale for teens, if you fall for it you're going to get yourself hurt in the worst way.

I have a question about guys, their nature, and cheating.
This is a serious question and I'm looking for any&all guys own points of view

if you cheat on your girl-only 1 time or multiple-how often does it have something to do with not being sexually satisfied with your girl?or wanting more, different, or better sex?
and in general is cheating often because of an oppertunity for sex-is it because your will is weakened by sexual gratification/pleasure which is greatly enhanced when you get shitfaced?

is drinking and being horny all it takes to be able to cheat on your girl even if you're in love? cuz everyone always talks about not putting yourself in a dangerous situation like drinking tons and doing other shit when you're around lots of people including girls when your girl isn't there? i get that alcohol fucks our minds up and we don't think clearly or think like ourselves but can that be enough of a reason to want to fuck some girl other than the one you're in love with?

It really depends on the guy. I've had friends that couldn't keep willy in their pants if the wind blew too hard. Others couldn't get it up for anyone but the person they were nuts for. As far as booze goes, I guarantee that if a guy cheats on you while 3 sheets to the wind, he could be talked into it sober. Best of luck... :cockblocked:

I've Cheated for all three reasons, Needing different and better sex then my girl would offer, Just cause it was there and cause i was smashed, Most the time its a crime of opportunity it's offered so you do it you may feel bad after but at the time it just happens.
That said after i found "the one" and fell madly in love it didn't matter if it was an option if i was drunk it didn't matter i wasn't going to cheat i loved her and i knew that horny, sober, smashed, high it didn't matter.
Though there was this one time when i had no intention of cheating got drunk passed out woke up as i busted nuts with and old friend/ex girlfriend riding me, but that wasn't my fault and i never considered that cheating!

Your question asks about guys in general, but you can't really stereotype people like that.

Its like asking "Why do women cheat?"

There are many reasons, and reasons that ring true for one person will not hold any sway over another.

In general, Chris Rock got it right when he said "A man is basically as faithful as his options."

But again, you can't stereotype people.  Many men will never cheat under any circumstances.

men and women are different. i'm talking about the fact that men and women have different hormones natures chemicals and and social behavior. i get there are many reasons but i'm asking to ask

Yes, BUT we have grown beyond our animal brains because of our intelligence. I agree with what you said, Anonymous 5, and I actually really liked it because it's true. Humans aren't meant to stay with one mate, they're supposed to get out and spread their seed just like bears. Too bad we're so smart.

Edit: Also, I haven't been in a relationship for 2 years because 1. Commitment scares me, even though I'd love to have a loving GF, and 2. My personality is too inconsistent.

It's my personal belief that people with inferior intellect talk about sex because it's the most interesting part of their life/thing to talk about. I wouldn't say all guys talk about sex constantly, but you must admit, it is a fun thing to talk about. Sex is great, it's kind of what drives most humans. Woops I'm arguing against myself.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-sex by any means.  I can argue on behalf of monogamy and still enjoy sex.  In fact, I have had some one night flings with women and in comparison, the sex I've had in enduring relationships is leaps and bounds above the one night stuff.  In particular, the relationship I'm in now, we have the most out of this world love-making sessions.  We have a blast with each other.

It's because we've connected, fallen in love, and become completely comfortable with ourselves and our bodies around one another.  There's never a hint of awkwardness, or feeling like, "hmm, maybe I shouldn't say that, or do this..."  Anything goes.  We make love for hours, laugh and talk, please each other compassionately.  Oftentimes orgasm simultaneously.  It's a beautiful thing.

Compare that to..

Getting drunk and fucking.

Which actually my girlfriend and I do on occasion too if we feel so inclined.  Sometimes she likes a good ravishing, and I like to pretend I'm one of you Neanderthals.  Then we go back to cuddling and gentle kisses after it's over.

I like to hear that cuz guys have a worse rap when it comes to cheating.

when it comes down to it I think girls do it more because in most cases they get more opportunity to do so. another reason I think regardless, its best just to not put urself in a situation. that is, if u care about ur relationship.

to OP: some cheat and learn their lesson. others  are selfish

I dont know why women use alcohol as an excuse, no matter how fuckin hammered I was I can always tell what im doing and have a decision in doing it. If I am in a relationship it is because I want to be with that person and ONLY that person... Im sorry, but Im not a man who cheats and I am completely against it in every way, any man or woman who cheats doesnt deserve anybody at all.
