do people ever jack a faceless deck?

I'm thinking about putting a deck back in my car because I lost my ipod. And before i use to have a deck and subs but those were stolen real quick for being an idiot. but now I just wanna put in a nice ole deck and take the face off wherever I go. Ever hear of people just taking the deck still?.. I think its a bad idea tho but i want to listen to cds so bad.

its a 93 accord DX and can be opened by anybody who wanted to get access.

Virtually any car can be opened by some one willing to break a window :hehehe:

Somebody broke into our garage at my apartment last week and stole my roommate's face and book of CD's. The next day they returned the face back to the outside of the garage during the middle of the day... just laid it by the big door. Decided to keep the CD's though.

I live in a place that is well known for car break-ins and I've never heard of someone stealing a deck without a faceplate. Then again they don't usually jack the CD players here. I can't imagine it would be of any use to someone without the face plate though. Sure you can order a new one but what criminal is going to go through that extent and who would sell a faceplateless desk? I'm sure that'd raise some flags on eBay.

not surprised if you tell us you live around philadelphia.  almost a quarter of my friends have had their "whip" (fags) stolen or broken into here.

Tough call... Generally, without the faceplate the unit becomes pretty useless.

On the other hand, desperate people will steal anything.

I live in Newark, NJ. Crime has dropped here in recent years but it used to be pretty damn bad.

I dated a girl from Philly and she had her CD player stolen 3 times. Eventually she just removed the installation brackets and just pulled the wiring harness out the back and stuck the headunit under the seat it the seat every time she parked the car.

You'd have to be a fool to risk a felony I believe, over that used PoS.

I mean don't get me wrong, that thing gets the job done, but I wouldn't risk my freedom for it.

heh trust me, my last one was a worser PoS. but cops arent everywhere. not even close.

if i left the face on this i bet the thing would be gone within a week after hanging out my friends condo.

I dont even have to bump up any EQ with that x001. The bass, treble, and sub remain on 0. The sub eq can go up 15 notches or levels of loudness. Its uncalled for and only for show off, but iv shaken my rear view mirror off the windshield its so loud.

Brings back great memories, I had (got stolen) the black version of this.  Great deck for the money I say!

I mean really though, a deck is a deck IMO.  Anything more than $150 is a waste unless it's just for show.

thats nuts.. i bet the person felt stupid but to return the deck face is really funny... They care enough to steal but then care enough to return it when they cant use it haha
