he seems to accuse oprah and tolle of promoting self-help and eastern philosophies. clearly tolle is an agent of the antichrist :tinfoil:

most of them don't understand what the ego is.  or they can't grasp the notion that the true self is separate from it.

Hahaha, I cant take anymore of those blog responses, 5-10min was enough.

To me, Christians a lot of time don't realize a lot about what a global and massive religion espouses about future events almost becomes this self fulfilling prophecy insasmuch as you are willing to connect some tentative dots that other people in your community also will. People who think dogmatically do not have much intellectual cleanliness or whatever. The whole thing is based upon a hell of a lot of very faith based story telling.

I guess I skip a bunch of the BS in those arguments and focus on the meat of the whole religion thing. Afterlife and the story about how things have gone wrong on the earth. I would tell them the idea of a perfect world, a heaven, is a error. Heaven and hell do not exist in my opinion, how could the act of being aware be any better than what we see in nature? What then? Exactly, they just babble on about nonsense without realizing life is just as it is. Good and evil are necessary, contrast exists only because it contrasts. The only thing that could be different would be total loss of selfhood, even then that is hard to grasp.

But of course the skeptic in me can always grant that there a lot of possibilities out there just probabilities to decide on. But then again, its so absurd to think there is any gravity in our "free" will with a god like the gods of the big religions. I am damned and he fated it! The logic seems to be pointing at that at the minimum.
