so iv decided to try and quit smoking cigs again i need some input

alright so iv decided to try and quit smoking cigs
iv tried to quit two times in the past
both failed
im always around people that smoke
friends and family
how can i quit if people around me are always doing it?
its so tempting
when i see someone smoking it proms me to want to do it

all you gotta do is remember that if you keep smoking you will most likely end up with emphazima or lung cancer so... that is strong motivation for me to refrain. As well as the fact its pretty muc near impossible to work out if you are smoker, and since im trying to get in shape i cant afford to smoke.

Just concentrate on other things as hard as you can. Your friends are gonna smoke their cigs for only 5mins right? so just imagine the huge relief when you don't have to watch them smoke anymore and maybe that'll work? i dunno, ive never been there :shrug:

dude, its called self control.

do it.

replace it with marijuana at first if its that hard for you.

and if you say, "well, when i smoke pot, i always have a cig after.. so it makes me want one.."

just have some self control, and remind yourself of why your quitting, instead of giving in and making excuses about having one.

btw, i was in the same boat, i just learned to say no, if i got offered one, and kept reminding myself of how fucking bad it is for your health. i feel 200 times better having quit smoking for almost 2 years now.

In the same situation, I quit smoking about 6 moths ago after five years smoking and now I had fallback for one month and now sit in the couch chewing nicotine chewing gum. Those are great, when you really want to smoke, just take a nicotine chewing gum, do this for few days, and after it will be easier, every week it gets easier.
Until after a wile you think, damn it's easy I can take one cigaret, no problem, and then your back in the trap. =) Avoid that. :laugh:

GL man. Remember, you don't want to smoke it's just an addiction.

Its seriously fucking awesome, costs about 1/3 as much as smoking depending on your habit, doesn't give you cancer, can be smoked ANYWHERE, and is pretty cool looking and a hell of a conversation starter as well.

I have the DSE 901 model, I love it but a friend just got the 510 that I showed you there. The vapor doesn't have as good a flavor but its much more like actually smoking a cig. I got mine and I haven't wanted a cig in weeks. Like...seriously. I haven't even WANTED one. lol its awesome.

Oh yeah, but don't get it from there...get it from a site that offers the rechargeable case for it. My buddy got his at local flea market vendor.

Get the joy 510 kit without the box for like 35 bucks I think!
This is the one I bought and I used it with xtra high nicotine flavoring. GOOD LUCK!!

usually when im sick or really hung over i dont get cravings. ive tried to quit a couple times when that happens but im just not quite strong enough

Every time you have a craving remind yourself of every thing bad about cigarettes. Everything you hate about it and why you're quitting in the first place. Weigh the pros and cons. 5 mins of goodness vs years of bad shit in the long run.

Be proud not to smoke. Be cocky that others are weak and you no longer smoke that nasty shit. Dont say it but truly make yourself believe it.

The cravings will go away shortly. In a couple months cigarettes will be something you rarely think about.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin (aka buprofin) for depression, and I'm very hesitant to recommend it to people...it made me FAAAR more depressed and suicidal than I was, to the point where I really didn't STOP thinking about killing myself. I dubbed it "hell in a bottle" and told my doctor to get me something different with a fucking quickness.

ive taken wellbutrin before and they made me not want a cigarette. tried to smoke one and it seemed pointless
