I was at guitar center today looking around at all the new equipment they had in stock since its been hell of a long time since ive been there. Then I came across this guitar....Gibson SG...
This is when I decided that it was my turn to treat myself. This badboy set me back $950.00 bucks....but I still got a deal on it...my buddie who works at guitar center nocked off a couple hundred bucks plus it came with a case. Let me tell you it plays like a dream! Its by far the best sounding guitar I have ever owned so im really siked! Theres no more having to play on a fender strat for me! Now all thats left for me to buy is this

I have now just recently gotten back into guitar about 4 weeks ago. Before that I had taken the longest break ever from actually playing and practicing. For about 6 months I would occasionly sit back for a few minutes and play. But now....I sit for hours in my chair playing. Its like my passion for guitar has finaly come back and hit me harder than ever. I had the choice of either getting the SG or a Les Paul but I decided the SG would suit me better for my taste and I couldnt of been more right.

Haha yea...this Marshall head is gonna take me a bit to save for also. I have a full Marshall Cab right now but its not a vacuum tube head so it just doesn't fit my needs. But I got that one for a good price also...I belive I paid around $800.00 for the full cabinet about a year ago.

That was the other guitar I had the choice of getting but it was the Sunburst color. I cant tell if thats the studio Les Paul from the pic but it looks like it from what I can see. Thats a nice guitar there also

Oh, and what's wrong with Fender Stratocasters?
Nice guitar though! Wicked price too, in Australia a guitar like that would set me back about 5 k. Rock on

HOT DAMN! thats alot.....but there isnt anything wrong with strats they are still great guitars. Thing is when I bought the strat I was into punk bands like Millencolin and Pulley so the guitar fit my music style perfectly. But as time went on my music taste changed to Metalcore bands like The Agony Scene and Between the Buried and me so playing metal on a strat didnt seem to fit the image.

yeah, i have one of those, too
I love the sound I get from this thing, but the neck is like a tree trunk for my tiny fingers. I'm lookin to get a guitar with a slimmer neck, possibly 3/4 scale like a mustang.

Nice. IMO, you can never go wrong with a Gibson. I want a Les Paul myself.
My father-in-law just had Gibson build him a custom guitar last year. He dropped about $8000 on it (at least thats what he admitted to me, I think it was even a bit more than that)!!  But since he is in Northern Cal I haven't had a chance to see it yet. It must be a dream though!!

I am very happy with my budget line Gibson(Which is called Epiphone)
She has a very sweet sound.
Anyone ever hear of a guitar called Tradition??? I have an acoustic called Tradition and it sounds great but I have never heard of the company, and with a name like tradition it must be a smaller company.

That does look like a nice guitar. (I think Jack Black plays it in school of rock  - from memory)
I don't get how electric guitars can have different sounds? Doesn't it all just depend on the pickups and amp (+ effect pedals etc...)
I've been thinking of buying a guitar and i really like the Les Paul the way it looks but i suppose that would set me back quite a bit...

One of the first guitars I bought was an acoustic/electric 12-string. It is a great instrument. I think a few shroomerites got a chance to play with it at the AZ gathering in April.

Yea, that is a deal considering reallly good guitars, especially some classical acoustics can set you back thousands of dollars.
