just get it towed to a garage.

and tell em to call u when they find the problem.  Then when they call, ask what they would charge to fix it....  then call 2 other garages, see if its much cheaper...

problem solved.  estimates are almost always free!

Interesting idea! Simplky but interesting. One thing I did not consider is that the fuel gauge broke, then I ran out of gas. The last time I fueled it was last Sunday, and I only filled it to "Half" (if it was still working then). I say this because my old vehicle, which was a 1992 Ford Explorer (with 4WD), had its fuel gauge break. But in the Ford, the broken gas gauge always show "E". I ran out of fuel in my Explorer a lot, at least 4 times in a year. If the gas gauge broke on my Chevy and currently shows about "1/4", that would suck!

But, then again, when my Ford ran out of fuel while driving, it would gradually start to "chug" along as it ran out of gas, especially on flat ground (where I usually was). It was sort of gradual, not instantous like my Blazer did.

(2.) When I tried to start it on the side of the road, I remember putting it in "Park" to prevent it from rolling. Then, I put it in neutral and pushed it off the road, then stopped. I started it again, and still no running engine, but thanks for saying that: I have done that before and thought my car was in trouble, but it was just in the wrong gear.  :wow:

Thanks for your Positive advice, but the problem is that I already got it towed to a mechanic shop. If I find a cheaper price, how am I going to get my vehicle there?

if the second garage is gives u a better deal. ex. savings pays for another towing.  then go for second place.


with my starter, one place wanted $460...

but i found a smaller garage to do it for $300... so i saved $160, and the tow was $45

All I seen was fuel pump relay not just the fuel pump itself. Thats not the same to me.

i say fuel pump/sender assembly. either that or crankshaft position sensor.

***Update***

I called the mechanic today at around 11:30am to see if my vehicle made it to the shop. Its there, and he said he will call me back when he gets a chance to look at it.

I'll update this thread with the final dianosge once I get the answer from the mechanic, then, if you feel like it, you could guess the price that it will cost to fix it.
