Hmm, this man needs to learn how to cook and live cheaply
OK these are my top 3 meals from when I was broke. I really don't like spaghetti so I found other things.
(two Meals)
1 package of Mac N Cheese 1 Can of Tuna
Around $1.50 for two meals
(3 or 4 meals depending on how much you eat)
1 Package of Hotdogs 1 roll of premade biscuits
Pigs in a blanket $2.00
1 lb dyed pinto beans 1 cube of salt pork 1 package tortillas 1 lb bag of rice 1 Jalapeno for taste.
15 or more meals $5.00 (Pinto beans can be a meal in them self, then there is Beans and Rice. After that mash the beans to make refried beans and start makeing Burritos.)
So $12.00 and enough food for a week. Add another $1 for a dozen eggs and you are good for all meals. BTW, Over easy eggs on a bed of steamed rice is very good.
You can also get a dry package of 10 bean soup with everything you need for like $1.50 and it makes enough for 3 or 4 meals.
When I was out of money and no food I would go to a catholic church. They always seem to have a pantry overfilled with donations. But rather than just asking for free food, ask the priest if there is anything you can do to help the church in exchange for some food to get you through the week. Father Thomas at the local church (yes, I got to know him) would have me dust the pews and then give me 10 to 15 paper bags of food.
Hope this helps.
