Well, first of all, all "metal heads" have basically the same tendency.

We are all human, the outlets we choose to express or experience ourselves within are similar in a lot of ways.

Where you see cheesy, whiny, unoriginal I see the exact opposite. They, to me, seemed more than anything perfect examples of how to utilize and curtail that projected perception.

What they gave to me was a model of friendship, from which I received inspiration to seek out my own authentic relationships within my surroundings, and succeeded and basked within the glory of that when I was younger.

They ignited my fuckn heart! Not with their lyrics or songs, but with something hidden and abstract. Made for my ears and eyes in my place, in my space!

Yeah that about sums it up for me. There were a bunch of other similar sounding bands around that time and I find them all pretty bland.

Hey now... no need to get personal. I didn't attack you. I expressed my opinion about a band.

I get people liked them. Don't care. Never liked them, always thought they sucked, ass. That's my opinion and you won't change it :grin:

That's why I said to each their own. We all have tastes.

But if you want to spend your life listening to shitty radio music that's your choice :tongue2:

Is it me or do almost all of their songs sound very much alike? That's a problem that I have with some of the bands like them or even Lincoln Park...my son was into System of a down...I thought they were pretty talented.

Keep in mind that I grew up with Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Allman Brothers,Pink Floyd, Joe Walsh, Steve Miller Band, Santana....of course many more but...bands then seemed to have a much more diverse and rhythmical song base.:shrug:

I guess you could say that...it does seem like it, in a way.

But at the time they were everything to me. Entertainment in general nowadays seem fast foodish...maybe blinding our vision! Though, I get what you're saying.

A band that I really like as well, but haven't paid much attention to until recently is red hot chili peppers. They're pretty great! I love them too!!

Oh yes the turn of the century music.  Mmm tasty.  I still crank the radio when Bawitdaba comes on. Still gets me pumped.  Also I got the Eminem cd with hi my name is loaded in my car right now.  I jam to that every so often when the mood calls for it too.  Not a big fan of rap but that cd was ok by me.
