how to kill trojan?

Norton Antivirus detected a trojan that it failed to remove...

So I downloaded Avast! because that worked great for me in the past....hah.., but it wouldn't do a full scan and soo didn't even detect the virus.

I then tried AVG and Avira and neither of them could detect it.

Anyone know of any other free antivirus ?

use avast, and make it do a BOOT SCAN, it will scan for viruses BEFORE you get into windows.  Also turn OFF your restore points BEFORE doing the scan.

If you have a keygen/crack for a game/software you got from torrents/limewire or something, those are always detected as false positives (they arent actually trojans)
Otherwise maybe norton fucked up, cuz its known to be crappy, or maybe you will have to spend several hours just looking for and deleting some file

I'm pretty sure the ol' trojan remover would be gumby approved:thumbup:

Malwarebytes is another one.

Also, turn off autorun and wipe all temp directories. There is a hidden folder usually off the root of c: called Recycler, make sure that is empty. Malwarebytes in safe mode is an exceptional program BTW, but make sure you update it.
Oh yeah, almost forgot about Hijack This, run that as well if needed.

Or install a Linux distro and never have to worry about malware again :thumbup:
