This is always my issue with feminism. A lot of women will go on and on about how abusive society is that certain things are expected of a guy that get them ahead and women totally are expected different. It can work both ways. A guy can be completely abused by a woman as well. I suppose it is hard to compare.
A woman thinks she won't be treated smart as a smart person she needs to be ultra feminine and will be treated well as a pretty person and for no other reason. A man feels he needs to lift every girl up on some pedestal and if he does not she will not respect him as just a person. If he does not treat a girl as so unique she will qualify him as an egotist.
Honestly its pretty abusive from both points of view. Not sure if this is exactly what you were trying to convey in the thread. I think expectations in general based on gender preferences is just an abusive life to live. I dont know. It really does work both ways. A person treated as smart and with respect means no predisposition. Treating a guy like a pig because he automatically thinks you are pretty or automatically does not think you are pretty is messed up and abusive in its own way.

I guess expectations based on gender preference is just sort of messed up in general. People should be very aware of how it effects someone.
