Yeah, a lot of meat is laced with hormones and the animal is treated unfairly

what's unfair?

pork, the leading meat product cannot be treated with hormones
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/FactSheets/Pork_From_Farm_to_Table/index.asp

beef is under a serious review and will probably be pulled, only about
2/3 of the cattle in the US and canada are treated with hormones

Well, you know, i'm not entirely educated on the subject, but from what i've seen (which is very little) most animals get treated like a crop and not an animal. That is what's unfair to me. Also, I don't think all the meat that gets eaten and sold in the USA is grown and raised in the USA. So, if thats true, then those laws don't really mean that much to the typical fast-food consumer. If you continued to read my post though, I don't really care. I just like to be in complete control of what I put into my body. Kind of a control freak like that. Tis why I have started researching organic farming and why I hope to own my own organic farm one day. I don't eat meat because I don't trust people. Also, in regards to being treated unfairly, have you seen Food Inc.? Those chickens have it rough man. Kind of makes one sad
