It's nice to have a heated debate with someone who doesn't stray off-topic or call me names for a change.

Echoing the sentiments of the brethren below, a very informative and interesting 'rite. I'm also grateful for the personal response to my inquiry.

lIXII said: Concerning your eggplants, that's what you call marginal scalding. Most typically associated with a bacterial canker. This stuff is bad- fortunately it is opportunistic concerning hosts, & typically only infects solanaceous veggies (peppers, tomato, potato, eggplant) if you have it, just never plant any other solanaceous plants anywhere near it, or soil/containers where it has been. Edit: there are cankers of other plants too, like Prunus spp., but they are different bacteria, & I think are exclusive to host type or family/ species.
You can hope that you don't have that- but some other tips: that plant is too immature to have fruit. You would want to pinch off flower buds until the plant is larger & then it will have a heavier bloom & larger size & be able to sustain many fruits (instead of one that is too taxing for a smaller plant & will stunt it).
Eggplant is really sensitive, more than other veggies in its family, & needs to be hardened off carefully etc.
