"Many folks, do like to argue, for who knows what reason. I can think of several, but I am not one of them. Likewise many study the martial arts. Others like to get in real bar fights and hurt other people. Others manage to get their aggression out on the football field, or if more intellectually inclined by playing chess, or lawyering and winning in court. Seems to me variety is the spice of life, & I have no desire to prove others wrong or make them be like me. I do present my way of viewing certain matters of interest to me, because they may resonate with some others. Mostly they seem not to and that is ok too, as far as I'm concerned." - laughingdog

I really appreciate your input and observations brother!

That even those who calm thoughts with meditation and begin to make a distinction between awareness and thought, still die; does not mean meditation is not an option in our situation worth pursuing. Given the stark facts it seems expanding consciousness,
by whatever means, and being willing to question one's beliefs are among the better options.

I like your first point about consciousness...
sorry about erasing previous comment here
but I really agree, people make it much more complex than it is.
not that it is that simple.
but experiencing is it.

I like you already:

"All "true belivers" make the same claim, (ie 'in the nature of Ultimate Reality') even though their belifes are very different....and they love to go door to door...rule by 'Divine Right'... ...or make the natives wear clothes...burn books...or witches...etc."

Please stick around. This place needs more minds like yours.
