"Profiteer" is the right word; I think the statement deserves a little more explanation though.

I think it's sheer idealism rather than fact to think that the "family" , for example, who made acid so available for so many years on the dead circuit weren't turning a profit.  Nor do I think there's anything wrong with making a little money for one's trouble and the risk and so on; I'm certainly not saying that profit was their motivation - I think its rather obvious that it wasn't.  And you won't find me saying anything kind about folks who take advantage of people and are far less interested in sharing a wonderful experience than emptying people's wallets.

Personally, I say spread the love - but I'm not going to hold it against anyone for simply trying to earn back the money they had to invest in order to make psychs available to others in the first place.  I do certainly agree with the sentiment that psychedelics should be offered as inexpensively as possible and that individuals who are just out to make a buck have no business peddling sacraments they neither understand nor respect as if they were nothing more than party favors.
