It's ok to disagree with me and we can have a discussion, but user ratings are not used to express your disagreement with someone, rather if someone does something harmful to you personally. Edit: Cool, I'm glad we understand each other. Now... If heroin was made legal, the clinics would entice more people to try it because less would be afraid of it and it wouldn't have the negative media attention. Once the clinics would try to reduce the dosages and get people off, the users would just move away from them and get heroin illegaly. The result would simply be more users, nobody would respect the clinics advice/policy once addiction sets in, because addiction is very strong. Yes, there would be a portion of the population using clinics responsibly, perhaps even as much as 50% of the people, but the fact is that most human beings are not that responsible or do not have enough life motivation to see enough reasons for quitting after trying just once. There is not enough global demand for legal products made of poppy so their fields would be unused if they tried to switch. Let's think of a funny example: so you're saying if say the people of Bangladesh started making chemical poison used to kill random people around the world and that was their only source of income, they should be spared because, hey, they can't live off of anything else? How BS is that? The fact of the matter is that Afghan climate is well suited for a variety of legal crops. The problem is that the infrastructure of the country is so poor, that they don't have channels for exporting it. The drug lords have forced the people to grow them and sell them poppy at incredibly low prices. In fact, the farmers would earn more selling apples if US (or the UN or whoever) invested in building infrastructure for commerce and export in the country. peace edit: PS I've thought about it and you're right, imposing my consciously biased views is stupid. I won't do it any more. Let people make up their own minds. Cheers. Last Edited 05/24/07 05:14 AM |

The ambient music list rules. Its the first time in 5 years that I don't object to listening to something that doesnt have anything to do with rock music. I'm stunned. Perhaps its part of my personal transofrmation(s). Thanks for the insight. | |||||
