I recently spoke to a man who came into my friends workplace while I was there talking to her. He started talking to her about rose diamonds and their origins deep in the ground, and asked her if she knew how far they had to drill in the ground to get them. She answered him correctly, but he went on to spit out this crazy conspiracy theory about how the government is trying to drill into the center of the earth to utilize the magnetic and gravitational fields for time travel.

He then went on to tell us of his theory that humans are an experiment conducted by otherworldly aliens, but that these aliens are actually a race much the same to us, and that they created us in their likeness.
His theory was that our notion of the Christian "God" is actually the scientist who headed this experiment.
He seemed to think that this scientist had come under some kind of ethical review, and that the general public of the planet he lived on were in an outrage, saying that keeping us on this planet while there is so much evil and despair was cruel and unethical.
He then told us that their was an initiative to destroy the planet and euthanize us all, but that he had been given one more chance to prove his experiment was a success and that he had created good, pure beings. Apparently, his idea was that people who were virtuous, kind and productive/creative were to be taken to the other world, while evil, unproductive and wasteful members of our society were to be destroyed along with the planet (This idea seems to be a original take on the notion of heaven and hell).

His theories seemed to make a disturbing amount of sense, and I probably would have taken him a little more seriously if he didn't keep randomly bursting into strange accents and odd speeches about the space program of the 1960's and 1970's.

Interesting food for thought, though.
