Why are companies like Ubisoft (who are crap anyway), saying nonsense like "gamers need to get used to not owning their own games", someone really high up said almost those exact words. What is everyone's take on this? I really want a comeback of physical copies, because if anything happens internally, I still have the physical copy as my own game. The world could end, but I could still play games and not have to connect to the internet. I think gamers should want physical copies, and should go back to a time when we actually had physical copies as an option. Just charge $10 more for the digital copy and you'll get both. But, yeah. Aside from actually resorting to piracy and cracking games so people can play them without DRM that forces you to be online, these gaming companies are just...literally encouraging piracy. People will go to great links to have that physical backup. I know in the future, life's gonna suck. Before Will Smith slapped smaller people, he starred in "I, Robot", the year is like 2060 and everyone has robots as assistants. Will, he's still rocking a DVD player. Sure it's not video games, but I like the concept. I like physically owning something, once I pay for it, that it's mine, and not tied to anything. Even for stuff like cars, I am not taking it off the lot, or off someone's hands, until I have the sum of money they want, and I expect not to be leasing it when paying msrp Am I crazy with this take on physical copies of games being something that should make a comeback? I loved having a game library on a shelf. I miss that. So...I will add a poll
